Bizarre article

edit

Miko Peled is known as an anti-Israel activist who supports a boycott against Israel and has connections to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Source: https://www.israelhayom.co.il/article/561915. He also expressed support for Operation Al Aqsa Flood (the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas). Source: https://www.israelhayom.co.il/sport/world-soccer/article/15770941. Claiming that he is a peace activist is highly misleading.

Also note that Mr. Peled's article was deleted from the Hebrew Wikipedia due to lack of notability. Source: link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.234.74.163 (talk) 05:27, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wanted to fix the question of notability and make sure the article wasn't a stub.Ekuhn94 (talk) 20:17, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

This article is a perfect example of misusing Wikipedia for self-promotion.

There are also inaccuracies. Peled's father was sent abroad to promote Israel during the years following the 1967 war. This is contrary to the depiction promoted in the article.

I agree that the term "peace activist" has little real meaning. It is often used by advocates for one side - invariably detractors of Israel. CaseyHamMD (talk) 20:00, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Why this page was started

edit

Miko Peled is someone who is trying to decrease the gap between people in Israel. He has been working on this issue for many years, i wonder how come he has not have a page identifing his efforts on Wikipedia. His voice deserves to be heard. His words can be desribed as a neutral point of view which is one of the aims of the Wikipedia project. Ithink this page need a lot of work in the neutral point of view not by one side only.--Ashashyou (talk) 13:24, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

My view is that some Israelis can talk in a neutral point of view.--Ashashyou (talk) 13:52, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Peace activist"?

edit

Why does Wikipedia permit the use of such nonsense terms? If anything, the description of the man as a "peace activist" should be in quotations and preceded by "self-described". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.224.41.113 (talk) 01:11, 22 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm not Mr Peled, and I've never met him or (as far as I know) anyone related to him. Having viewed a presentation by him, I'd describe him as a peace activist, because he is trying to promote a stable, peaceful solution to the Israel/Palestine situation. So he's more than a "self-described" peace activist. Longitude2 (talk) 18:48, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

why is the biased self serving advert allowed on wiki?

I am not experienced enough on Wiki to correct this joke of an article, I hope some people who are can clean it up
