Comedy Union
editHello. This private business is not WP:Notable enough to have its own article, so it should not be listed here. The guideline is Wikipedia talk:Notability (organizations and companies), which states "An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability." The source cited mention this club only in passing, so I am removing it. Thank you. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 02:02, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
I added another citation, this one to a lengthy article from Los Angeles Magazine, which describes the club as "L.A.’s premier showcase for black comedians". You cite the following reasons for deletion: (1) it is a private business and (2) it is notable enough for its own article. However, neither of these reasons fall under the guidelines for content removal. Phatblackmama (talk) 16:17, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. That L.A. magazine source can stand by itself. The others mention the club only in passing. It would be nice if you could do an article about the club, and you could probably use the other two links in it as examples of the acts being presented there. Sincerely, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 19:33, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
Fremont Place
editRemoving "Fremont Place" from Mid-City. Per the boundaries set up by Mapping LA, it is actually located in Mid Wilshire.
Fremont Place is a gated community between Wilshire on the north, Olympic on the south, Lucerne on the east and Muirfield on the west.
I don't know why the LA Times listed it as being in Mid-City, but that was a mistake.
For anyone not familiar with the neighborhood, here is a google book that delineates the location.
Removing info from lead
editUser:Phatblackmama removed quite a bit of information from the WP:Lead, which I restored inasmuch as it seemed to sum up a goodly part of the article. Let's WP:Discuss it here to see what we should do. Sincerely, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 02:46, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, again. I would like to see more than just a bare-bones description in the lead. I am sure that PBM or another editor can compose something that will nicely sum up this article. Yours, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 03:58, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
