About MechWarrior 5 edit

Do we really need a long wishlist for this on a MechWarrior 4 article? Theodorel 02:34, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It looks like someone removed it, as I don't see one anymore. 152.133.6.197 20:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Apache1990 16:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC-4)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Longbow in city scrshot 4 wikiped.jpg edit

Image:Longbow in city scrshot 4 wikiped.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use rationale inserted. The image was a screenshot I made from my own screen, using my own legal copy of Mechwarrior. Bleh. Centrepull (talk) 16:21, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Modding and Unofficial Patches/Upgrades/Expansions edit

I had to remove a lot of sneaky advertising for various modding groups throughout the article. Information about user mods must be confined to the "modding" section and cannot be strewn throughout the article with BS "references" that just take you to a fan website. The latest version is the latest official version. The latest fan version can be mentioned in the modding section, but not in the infobox. Extensive information about modding and user community belongs on gaming wikis and forums, not here. Sorry. Please try to maintain article quality! Some guy (talk) 03:32, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Considering MekTek.net has official Smith&Tinker authorization to release MW4 for free, I'd say we can allow it in the main article, as it will be a new OFFICIAL release. (talk) 01:02, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree that the upcoming official free release should at least be mentioned. After all, we have pages dedicated to other product modifications. --148.177.193.210 (talk) 07:34, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have added references regarding MekTek to this page from the Vengeance article and removed them from the latter article as well. This is because MekTek is not releasing Vengeance only Mercenaries and the Inner Sphere and Clan expansions. All references about this will need to be on this page not Vengeance. I'm a beta for MekTek and this information is in the proper place, I am working on getting more references. Thisisentchris87 (talk) 15:53, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have added Mektek Studios as a developer, and updated the release date to reflect the free online release, as well as add the digital distribution link to media format.Kcook969 (talk) 01:36, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
