Anarcho Capitalist Label

edit

Why is there a statement to the effect that Mary Ruwart does not like the anarcho capitalist label? The corresponding source "Why I Became a Libertarian" says nothing of the sort. If anything she is enthusiastic of the fact that she went from being an objectivist to an anarchist. Nowhere does she say anything negative about it or says "she dislikes the label" or that it is not "an appropriate representation of the view". Maybe she does say that somewhere but the source cited does not support such a statement. I hope it is deleted or modified to correct any errors or I will change it. Im surprised there has been no discussion for this article at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.31.242.174 (talk) 09:28, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Doctor Honorific

edit

You might want to consider removing the word "doctor" from Ruwart's occupations. While holders of a Ph.D. are entitled to be called 'Doctor,' use of the word 'Doctor' in reference to an occupation is usually reserved for physicians. Neither Ruwart's Ph.D. in Biophysics, nor her temporary appointment as an Assistant Professor in a university department of surgery qualify her as a physician. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.82.26.29 (talk) 00:28, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

"Bestseller"

edit

Unfortunately, Dr. Ruwart's Healing Our World does not appear to have been a bestseller in the usual sense of the word; that is, a book which sells tens of thousands of copies in a few months. Instead, there was a campaign by the author to drive it to the top of one of Amazon's category lists, which was briefly successful. Amazon's list categories are narrow, so the number sold was probably relatively small; perhaps a few hundred in a single month (Amazon does not publish the actual numbers.)

Let's not allow the use of Wikipedia as a marketing tool, hunh?

Quote from author's e-mail:

Since October 12 is a Wednesday, I'll be sending the promotional e-mail to you a few days before with the final instructions. I will be asking you to forward this e-mail to your list, with a one or two sentence endorsement from you, if you are so inclined. When the recipients buy a copy of Healing Our World from Amazon.com and forward the the e-mail confirmation to me, they receive over $100 worth of FREE downloads! If this promotion is successful, Healing Our World will hit the Amazon.com bestseller list. This will hopefully attract enough attention to get Healing into the bookstores or placed with a major publisher. If this promotion is successful, we can clone this process for other libertarian books."—https://www.mail-archive.com/badnarik2008@yahoogroups.com/msg00021.html

Sigh.
