Marital status
editThe text says he's busy getting divorced, but closes with "Believing that he would be killed if he stayed, he and his wife are on the run with no plans to return to their home" (emphasis mine). I'd expect his wife to have little to do with the whole affair, and definitely not to be 'on the run' as well. Or has he remarried with his mistress? Jalwikip (talk) 14:16, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- The source for that paragraph (which I didn't edit much) refers to V as his second wife. It is from May 08. The source for the earlier paragraph refers to V as his girlfriend and said he was in the process of getting a divorce. It was from February 08. I think you are correct in what happened. Official Webpage?
editI have some doubts whether the Official Webpage (http://www.marcvanroosmalen.org/) linked to in the "external links" section and used as reference is really his.
If features, rather prominently, a link to a consulting firm. I did not delete the link because I can't prove that it isn't his, but it appears to me to be a site taking advantage of his name rather than an official site acting as his mouthpiece.
I hope someone a little more web-savvy than myself can look into this and either verify or discredit this site.
- It look likes his site, and if you follow the consulting link, you discover that it is actually MR's own consulting firm (established after his acquital?) Jalwikip (talk) 15:24, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- The official site now links to a domain parking page, so the website is gone. I have removed the link http://www.marcvanroosmalen.org. --Marcel van b (talk) 13:16, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
Troubles
editThe troubles section needs severe updating. From MR's website:
- "A note from Marc van Roosmalen announcing his victory of being acquitted on the 25th of November 2008 from all charges of biopiracy in his appeal case to the Supreme Court in Brasilia. His thanks to the global community for their support during his darkest days in a Brazilian prison and while out awaiting the outcome of his appeal case. His plans for the future are to continue searching for unamed species and fighting for conservation in the Amazon."
Unfortunatley, I have too little time to do so. Jalwikip (talk) 15:28, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
