Children's picture books

edit

This article does not cover Peet as illustrator and it mentions children's picture book only re one late work Cloud Tea Monkeys (2010) with his wife and a third-party illustrator.

Library of Congress Authorities (U.S.) says this of Peet regarding Keeper (2005)--the first U.S. edition--

"(has written and illustrated books for children; this is first novel)"[1]

At the moment, link "LC Online Catalog" does not get me to the catalog. So I have simply restored "children's picture books" to the {{infobox writer}} --a few minutes after replacing it with "sports novels"-- and added "illustrator" to the lead sentence.

That U.S. national library catalog is working today. ... It does list one picture book other than Cloud Tea Monkeys, one that is expected next year. Namely,
  • Mysterious traveler (Candlewick Press, 2013, ISBN 9780763662325; projected October), by Peet, Elspeth Graham [his wife], illustrated by P. J. Lynch

"Peet, Mal" at WorldCat does identify numerous children's books including several from the late 1990s.

Cloud Tea Monkeys itself may be one of the early ones, if one record dated 1999 is reliable.[2]

Illustrator Alan Marks confirms the 1999 publication data.[3] -P64, minutes later

Five little men (Collins Educational, 1994) --"written and illustrated by Mal Peet and Elspeth Graham."

Wicked (Collins Educational, 1996) --one record that does clearly specify "written and illustrated by Mal Peet."

Dustbin Fred (Oxford, 1998) --"story and pictures by Mal Peet."; presumably the cover image shows his artwork.

"Summary: This is the story rhyme of Dustbin Fred. It is part of a series of rhyme stories that illustrate the most common rhyme families. Stories in Pack B contain two rhyme families and are intended for Reception and Year 1 readers to read independently."

If I understand correctly, these three were all published for the schools market. --P64 (talk) 23:02, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Lat year

edit

I think 'Within the last year he had also became a grandfather to Grace and Ezra.' should be changed, for, after all, 'last year' is different each year. 86.166.161.114 (talk) 16:14, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
