Identified victims table: When was a death discovered/reported

The table should include another column that would show when the death was first reported and attributed to the name. That would help with the timeline as to when a person was found dead. -Mardus (talk) 17:48, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Flag

it' the former flag, and he was a political refugee from belarus. He was buried with that flag and died fighting for it, IMO it's disrespectful to put the flag of the current regime that he fled from as his nationality. We know that he's from Belarus, not that he's a current Belarusian citizen. That he was buried with that flag doesn't mean that it is the right flag in this context. And as you say he "died fighting for the flag" is nonsense. It is an Ukrainian conflict and have nothing to do with Belarus, now or then! He was a member of an Ukrainian right wing group. As you see people born in USSR have the USSR flag in many context here on Wikipedia.--176.67.84.185 (talk) 17:39, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

You'll find that for anyone born in the Baltics, the national flag is used and not the USSR flag because of the dispute. In Zhyz's case, we don't know if he left Belarus after the current flag became official, but we do know that's the flag he identified with. There is only one Belarusian national flag and this is neither the Soviet one nor the fasisct one. RESPECT the validity most wikipedians have and some other country's flag and restore it now. Otherwise anyone will start imposing his own beliefs about anything-POV FFS.

German Monitor Magazin

After a long research the Monitor Magazin published a report about the identity of the Maidan snipers. The TV station is ARD http://www.ard.de/home/ard/ARD_Startseite/21920/index.html the public television in Germany which is state owned. Not a single major newspaper questioned the reliability of the report and further wrote own articles about it:

The fact that the German Wiki uses this source is irrelevant. The problem is that this is half baked rumor mongering. Also it is outdated. Also it seems like there's some misrepresentation of sources going on. I can't verify the video but the text is worded so as to suggest that it was Maidan forces who shot people, whereas what, for example Die Welt source seems to say is that it was a "third party". I.e. Not Maidan. Not Yanukovych. FSB. Although then the article also discounts that theory. Hence the source is being misrepresented. Hence removed.Volunteer Marek (talk) 01:42, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes like other "half baked rumors" in almost every article about Ukraine like the involvement of Russian Special forces in Ukraine, strange that I haven't seen you so willingly deleting them? You can rewrite the text if you like. They talked about the "third party" because they couldn't identify them, logical isn't it? Though they said that they were inside the Ukraina hotel which was 100% controlled by the Maidan protestors, so they weren't for sure Janukovych's people or FSB. --Wrant (talk) 12:26, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Legacy of the dead Police officers section removed by me today

It had the "information": The 18 police-officer who died while on duty during the Euromaidan conflict has so far not been memorized by the Ukrainian government. This "information" is not true; the Ukrainian interior ministry expressed condolences to the families here and here. Cause of death for Police officers?

There's been no confirmed information on the nature of their deaths. The official sources just provides a tribute list of their names as dying in the line of duty "from 18 February to 2 March 2014" (16 having died in that period), while other sources note that the majority of all of the killings were shooting deaths for civilian and possibly police (as well as some agitprop sites for a Berkut officer not mentioned in reliable sources, which I've now removed). Unless reports can be found from reliable sources per officer, Wikipedia has a strict policy of WP:NOR... meaning that we can't make things up. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:16, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
