have / has + Lents 1998 edit

"Magdalene is one of the smaller colleges in Cambridge University, but have often put out some strong crews."

Surely if we are to use "have" in the second part of this sentence, as you have corrected again after I have changed it, it should be "Magdalene are" at the beginning of the sentence? (I could be wrong about this, admittedly)
