MV to MS

edit

The majority of ship pages on Wikipedia are named MS_Shipname and not, like this, MV_Shipname. Shouldn't we make an effort in making them the same throughout, i.e. renaming this (and similar) article to MS_Pont-Aven? —Preceding unsigned comment added by FarbrorJoakim (talkcontribs) 14:44, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

All Brittany Ferries vessel except the Normandie Express are MV. MV appears in various press and shipping movements referring to the vessel and also throughout the various Brittany Ferries websites and on the on-board ship plans. I think the title should therefore remain MV Pont-Aven. Red Fox (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 18:05, 2 January 2009 (UTC).Reply
The guideline is to use the best-known prefix. In this case, if the company themselves use MV rather than MS, MV is the prefix that should be used. — Kjet (talk · contribs) 14:15, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
