16k Pounds/Month?
edit"she accepted an American offer of ₤16,000 per month" That doesn't make sense. Was she really offered that much money and why in British ₤ instead of dollars. That was a staggering sum of money back then. Even after WW2 a Pound was a good weeks wage. ₤16 a month was a very good salary. 68.215.94.87 (talk) 21:39, 29 April 2011 (UTC)David
- the reference is obviously a mistake: her 2008 biography says she was paid 18,000 francs a month which was £13,000 by "today's" - i.e. 2008 - prices. I will correct the article to reflect this.Timetocheck (talk) 12:11, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Various questions
edit- Do we know when and why she changed from Lopukhova to Lopokova?
- Was the reference to “Lapopka” a correct quote? If so, we need to insert a [sic]. If not, we need to fix the spelling.
- Was 21 October 1892 in the Gregorian or the Julian calendar? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 22:24, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Birthdate/Broun
edit- Birthdate. I've changed to 1891 from 1892 in line with her 2008 published biography. Earlier sources claiming 1892 (e.g. obituaries) probably reflect the fact that a year was knocked off her age by Diaghilev/Ballets Russes. Should add explanatory sentence to article?
- Removed reference to Heywood Broun as her partner from the infobox - inappropriate for brief relationship.
- There's too much about Broun in the text of the article, given it was a minor episode. It might be more appropriate to move this to the article about Broun himself (where Lopokova currently not mentioned), especially as the reference is from a book about baseball? Elucidate, please
editA fortnight into the honeymoon they were briefly visited by the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. Lydia remarked to Wittgenstein "What a beautiful tree", Wittgenstein responded glaringly asking "what do you mean?" which caused Lydia to burst into tears.
- Too obscure altogether. Could we have some idea what they were talking about? Valetude (talk) 21:15, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
