Broken Link edit

The link to the Poter article about revenge is broken but I don't know how to fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.244.9.171 (talk) 19:57, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Co-founder edit

Bramlet, bringing your wikipedia co-founder dispute to this article is pure trolling as this article has nothing to do with the wikipedia co-founder issue. Please either bring a ref that shows that there is a connection between Louise Blouin MacBain or desist in your obsessional trolling. Thanks, SqueakBox 22:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is no "co-founder dispute" or "co-founder issue", there is only the simple fact that Wales is co-founder of Wikipedia and should be so described. Thanks, Bramlet Abercrombie (talk) 22:22, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
If there is no dispute please stop trolling. You appear to have a problem, please do not bring it to wikipedia. Given you hate the place so much I suggest you find another hobby. Thanks, SqueakBox 14:58, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're bringing a nonexistent dispute into this, so stop trolling and leave undisputed facts in place. Bramlet Abercrombie (talk) 17:15, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
On the contrary, you are bringing a non-existent dispute into this, and from what i understand you are doing so because you hold a grudge against Wales in real life. Thanks, SqueakBox 22:39, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Can someone fix the revisionism and rewriting of history.[1] QuackGuru 18:00, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Absolutely. Thanks, SqueakBox 01:07, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
You did not fix the OR.[2] QuackGuru 03:15, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re-write edit

I have condensed this article back to notable inclusions only, it still requires citations. I'm not certain the subject meets WP:GNG or WP:BLPNOTE. Flat Out let's discuss it 03:25, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Excellent piece of work, Flat Out! And sorely needed, too. With some hesitation I have now restored the less complimentary content that was removed by an IP shortly before you got started (which at least had some actual references, including a fairly useful interview with the Guardian)). However I feel that it probably now has undue weight in relation to rest of the article, so please feel free to take the pruning shears to it at will. Conflict of interest edit

A number of contributors to this article appear to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:29, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Philantropy part edit

Philantropy

Louise Viger[1] Blouin founded the Louise T. Blouin Foundation [2] in 2005 with the aim of raising awareness about the role that culture and creativity can play in resolving global issues[3]. The foundation, which is a partner of the United Nations Office for Partnerships [4], has two core aims: encouraging a better understanding of foreign affairs and culture beyond borders through international cooperation, exchange, and dialogue for the 21st century, and exploring the broader practical significance of creativity and the creative potential of the human brain. In October 2006 the foundation opened the Louise T. Blouin Institute in Shepherd's Bush in west London. A gallery space combined with a centre for the foundation's work, its opening exhibition featured light installation pieces by the California artist James Turrell. Lecturers were organized to speak on the theme of art, light, and science in tandem with the exhibition included Professors Semir Zeki, Martin Kemp, and Michael Berry [5].

The tone of the proposed material is not appropriate to an encyclopaedia. Nor is it properly supported by the sources – the 1946 newspaper, for example, clearly calls her "Louise Blouin", without the "Viger". Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:36, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: <Dear Justlettersandnumbers thank you very much for your help. Would this new text be more appropriate: " Louise Blouin founded the Louise T. Blouin Foundation [2] in 2005. The foundation's advisory board includes Mr. Gillinson, Thomas Krens, director of the Guggenheim Museum, the soprano Renée Fleming, and the contemporary artists Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Francesco Clemente [3]. The foundation is a partner of the United Nations Office for Partnerships [4]. In October 2006 the foundation opened the Louise T. Blouin Institute in Shepherd's Bush in west London. Its opening exhibition featured light installation pieces by the California artist James Turrell. No, Lbm user2015, it wouldn't, for two reasons: first, it reads like a corporate press release, not like an encyclopaedia article; and second, this is a page about a person, Louise Blouin, and nothing that is not directly related to her and her life needs to be – or should be – included here. That includes any stuff about the foundation unless it is directly relevant to Blouin. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:06, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: I understand your comment. Is it possible to add that The foundation is a partner of the United Nations Office for Partnerships ? [1] Justlettersandnumbers, I really appreciate your assistance on this. Lbm user2015 (talk) 08:48, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Er, no! How is that relationship directly relevant to the life of Louise Blouin? (please read what I wrote above). Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:10, 21 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: <Mathew Kabatoff is misspelled and has only one « t ». Then, the first reference only shows that Mathew Kabatoff is Mrs Blouin's husband and the second reference says that Mathew Kabatoff worked with the foundation. Actually Mathew Kabatoff was not an employee of the foundation. He was a contractor for the Blouin Creative Leadership Summit at the same time he was a PhD student at London School of Economics and Political Science. Justlettersandnumbers, I really appreciate your assistance on this.> Lbm user2015 (talk) 07:31, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Done Good request, clear and simple, and based on the sources. Please don't post in the article again. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:27, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: <In 2016, Louise Blouin has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.[1]> Lbm user2015 (talk) 07:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

That morsel of trivial ephemera is sourced to Artinfo, which Blouin owns. Wikipedia is based on what is reported in independent reliable sources, not on what people say about themselves (or get their employees to say). Lbm user2015, may I suggest that you learn a little about the workings, practices and policies of Wikipedia before you make any more requests? Why not try making a couple of thousand edits to articles where you have no possible conflict of interest, so as to get a more realistic idea of what we're trying to do here? @Justlettersandnumbers: <Dear Justletterandnumbers. The reference number 8 is a dead link. Is it possible to remove it? . Justlettersandnumbers, I really appreciate your assistance on this. Thank you> Lbm user2015 (talk) 14:18, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for noticing that, Lbm user2015. I replaced it with an archived version of the Toronto Star article, not sure if it's the same text, but it's surely a useful source. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:53, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: <Dear Justletterandnumbers. Thank you. Could you please also add this info: Art-publishing powerhouse Louise Blouin has just launched her Blouin Shop, a one-stop online shop for browsing and purchasing more than 100,000 pieces of art and objets collected from around the globe. Click through thousands of pages of fine art, books from Taschen and Assouline, antiques, furniture, jewelry, home accessories, and more. Our favorite feature is the “Shop by Museum” function, with posters from iconic exhibitions from the world’s finest cultural institutions. No thank you. You expect us to add something with such an obviously promotional phraseology - have you learnt nothing about WP:NPOV? Edwardx (talk) 13:03, 1 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
