Brilliance v Taste?

edit

I removed the following remark: "It is generally accepted that his compositions are more informed by brilliance than by taste." The reasons?

1) It's unattributed. 2) It's snide, POV and not particularly meaningful. 3) I and other organ lovers I know don't accept it, so it's not as "generally accepted" as all that.

Personally, I think his music is high quality, cheerful, has a good dynamic range and deserves wider recognition. Sasha 12:29, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hyphens and Accents

edit

In the first sentence of the article the composer's name is currently spelt Louis-James-Alfred Lefébure-Wely, and throughout the article Wely/Wély lacks an acute accent. In his own signature, however, and in every other source I've seen, the surname is Lefébure-Wély. Has this been avoided for a reason? Also, I wonder if the hyphenated first names has been done by someone who just assumed all French names are like that. They're not. DTOx (talk) 09:06, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
