Outside of the English-speaking world edit
I don't have a strong sense of who reads what at what age in other languages. For example, I'm almost certain that there are a lot of equivalents of YA literature in Japanese (because there certainly is in Japanese film), but I have no idea of authors' names.

Consistency with list of children's literature authors edit
There are a lot of YA authors on the List of children's literature authors that are not here. Seems an area for some cleanup, making the two lists consistent. (Or maybe even moving all the YA authors here, and keeping the younger authors there? I don't know. Right now the two pages seem kind of messy, though.) 69.9.30.221 05:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

- There will never be 100% overlap or 100% exclusiveness between the two categories without losing the distinction entirely. Many titles are considered either "intermediate"/"middle readers" or "young adult" titles, depending on who is doing the shelving. Also, some writers (e.g. Madeleine L'Engle) have written adult novels, YA novels and children's picture books over the course of their careers, and so legitimately belong in all three categories. I personally think that the most important category to list such an author is the one to which most of the books belong, but better still is to be listed wherever appropriate.
