Loopy De Loop

edit

Whoever is editing this article needs to get their facts and standards corrected. If you insist on putting that Loopy was distributed by Columbia you need to mention that it is no longer distributed by them and in in the HB library owned by Warner Brothers. If you don't want any mention of it then you clearly need to remove the reference to it ever being distributed by Columbia as that is outdated.

You can go find multiple sources from Warner Brothers' Archive program that they own Loopy de Loop and are going to eventually release it on DVD, anyone who still thinks putting it as being distributed by Columbia is wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.47 (talk) 08:49, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is an encyclopedia, not a corporate asset guide or a buyers' guide. Loopy De Loop was produced for and distributed by Columbia Pictures. It is of no concern to an article listing Hanna-Barbera programs to determine who owns what and who puts what out on DVD; that information belongs in the individual articles. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 00:57, 13 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Agree. Not sure what the imporatance of whether a certain cartoon is completely available on DVD, half available, or not at all. A 50 sec look on Amazon or Google can tell you this. My guess is that this info has always been this person's pet project. Although it is obviously important to him/her, it has no real value to the general audience... Ckruschke (talk) 06:32, 17 May 2013 (UTC)CkruschkeReply

Due tell us what your "general audience" is then? People who don't want information or accurate up to date findings? That is the impression that user seems to want to persist on. I was not the one who added the DVD information. But i was the one who made sure to put which products are now/not owned by WB. I'm not sure what actual purpose you see in gutting that information. The other user seems to not know much of what he is talking about given that the DVD release page on this "encyclopedia" was already deleted long ago and there has never been a page about the current holdings. where do you prose said information goes? You have gutted any indications of caring where any program is now held by and given no place to accurately put it? I'm sorry but the general public is clearly going to not gain anything from a page that wrongly lists in some cases the proper distributors. I'm not surprised given how much wrong information was on many of these pages that could have been fixed if some wikipedians actually did appropriate research, but given the attitude of the last user, i doubt many of them know what the "general audience" or an encyclopedia mean at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.47 (talk) 09:26, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

That's not at all a civil tone. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 12:00, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

DVDs

Why are DVD sets listed here? Those are just collections of works, not new works themselves. Trivialist (talk) 22:15, 5 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Digital ink and paint

edit

I keep reverting edits from users claiming this show and that show are the first Hanna-Barbera shows to use digital ink and paint. I've not been able to find the proper references that list the exact first shows (which are The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries and The Jetsons - the latter being the first to properly credit computer animation system developer Marc Levoy), but every "first" I've seen listed here was an incorrect guess or presumption. Here is a reference for the development of H-B's pioneering digital ink and paint system in the early 1980s; if anyone can find any references specific to New Scooby-Doo Mysteries or Jetsons, then those can be properly listed as "first digital ink and painted productions". It isn't Powerpuff Girls or Jonny Bravo. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 18:25, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

R&R and QDM

edit

Someone is removing Ruff and Reddy and Quick Draw Mcgraw Show from this page. I dont know why but they are falsely taking them down here and messing the page up.

Please put it back up. They have no reason to keep doing that. Tropetroop29 (talk) 23:38, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not everything produced by Hanna-Barbera is owned by Warner Bros.

edit

There should be a list of these notes:

P The rights are currently owned by Paramount Pictures.
U The rights are currently owned by Universal Pictures.
D The rights are currently owned by The Walt Disney Company.
S The rights are currently owned by Sony Pictures.
M The rights are currently owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Per WP:OSE, a lot of the other productions at the time, including DePatie-Freleng do not have these either, so it's not super necessary, but if you want, feel free to do it yourself should you wish. Not a bad idea. CartoonnewsCP (talk) 23:56, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't see the point; it adds unnecessary detail that's of limited interest. Trivialist (talk) 01:19, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
