Electronic Media

edit

Should shows that fall under the Electronic Media agreement (such as Dimension 20 & Game Changer on Dropout) which are shutdown due to the strike be included in this list? If so, should it be under a separate heading? Thanks! Sariel Xilo (talk) 01:09, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I think they should be included (under a sub-heading maybe titled "video games"). AnthonyN090 (talk) 16:37, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
In the case of these two, neither focus on "video games". Game Changer is a panel game show & Dimension 20 is an actual play show (ie. they play D&D or other ttrpgs). Sariel Xilo (talk) 16:48, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I just don't think "Electronic media" works that well, maybe just an overall "Other media". That way, the subsection can include any project that's not a film or television series. AnthonyN090 (talk) 17:16, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think "other media" works well as a catch-all for what's not traditional TV/film. Sariel Xilo (talk) 17:25, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well, you are welcome to modify or change the table I created for these projects. I hope it works well enough. AnthonyN090 (talk) 17:31, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Adding more Unaffected Movies?

edit

Should we include movies that have completed filming to the list of unaffected movies (I’m thinking of any movie to be released in 2024) and if we don’t can we add that movies completed filming before the strike are unaffected. TVWolf (talk) 16:57, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

We should not include movies that have completed filming to the list of unaffected movies. We can add that movies completed filming before the strike are unaffected, but no specific examples. Cardei012597 (talk) 14:22, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I take back my previous comment, as Force of Nature: The Dry 2 is a completed film, but its release date was affected by the strike. I still do not agree to add more films that completed production to this list unless the films themselves had their release dates delayed due specifically to the strike. See List of films impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as the kind of list this should look like (films that stopped production and/or had their release dates pushed back due to the event). Actually my thought was adding movies like Good Burger 2 and Captain America: Brave New World to the Unaffected list, since some people might suspect that all movies in 2024 might not be released because of the Strike, (like some people don't think that all of those movies have been filmed since much of the affected list does include titles from 2024 and beyond, but again, that is just my thought and we don't have to do anything that's too much work or just too broad of a reason to add something to the list TVWolf (talk) 02:55, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
We should only add such films if their release dates were delayed due to the strike. Unaffected films should only include projects that are in production despite the strike. If we broke this rule for Unaffected films, than there will be a flood gate of adding every film that has ever been made prior to the strike. Like, for example, 1939's The Wizard of OZ would be considered an unaffected film, as it was filmed before this strike. You understand? We should not include every past film that is unaffected by the strike, unless they filmed during the strike. Cardei012597 (talk) 03:47, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
And, another thing, there are sources and lines of text on Good Burger 2 and Captain America: Brave New World thats specifically state filming completed at a date prior to the start of the actor's strike. If there are editors who are confused, we can direct them to read these portions of texts and sources that clearly state this fact. Cardei012597 (talk) 03:52, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
But, to be fair, eventually this list will include films like Good Burger 2 and Captain America: Brave New World as studios are starting to delay releasing such completed productions, due to not having access to actor's publicity tours. See the "Delayed releases" section and the sources within. Cardei012597 (talk) 03:57, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

New section for Waivers?

edit

The films with waivers are basically all of the films listed in the "Productions not affected" section. If you want more clarity that this is what the section is about, I can reword it. Cardei012597 (talk) 15:00, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I just clarified that the films listed as having a "SAG–AFTRA "interim agreement"" is the same as having waivers. Cardei012597 (talk) 15:07, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Buzz.ie

edit

I eas trying and censor a short word that appear in a ness article regarding to ongoing Hollywood strikes in America but i have to tell you the truth okay because these short words eveyone uses today makes me feel angry and upset by hitting myself in a head due to my autism and nothing to do with mental health issues so i have to declare the use of short words as "offensive" and discriminatory". In fact, buzz.ie should've use the "favourite" word instead of the short word of it as i still getting upset over it? I hope all governments around the world should introduce a ban on short words meaning everyone should use the common wording instead as of the following, mostly Britian and Europe, such as "celebrities" and "university" etc.

Stranger Things season 5

edit

I noticed that the fifth season of Stranger Things was in danger of being delayed from August 2, 2023 because of this strike. Is NME a reliable source?[1] 99.209.40.250 (talk) 12:55, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Productions not affected

edit

If the article's topic is "productions impacted by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike", why would a large majority of the article be those not affected??? This article is silly, we don't need a list with every production in it. The article should just link to https://deadline.com/feature/sag-aftra-interim-agreements-list-movies-tv-series-1235446661/ or wherever else rather than copy-pasting the list of names here, the vast majority of which don't even have articles. Reywas92Talk 17:58, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree, it's counterintuitive to list productions not affected. It is nothing but page bloat with largely non notable films. 152.32.99.203 instead of edit warring, explain why the page needs 70,788‎kb of useless data? And @Lima Bean Farmer:, since you once restored it (but did not discuss on talk page), why is it needed?Mike Allen 23:49, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can someone put Untitled The Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel in List of productions impacted by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike?

Please? 2600:6C67:2800:3833:B0ED:D46B:732A:5DE1 (talk) 01:39, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

It was added to this article by an IP editor on 9 November in this edit. I've marked it as unsupported by the given source, since the source only mentions the WGA strike, not the SAG-AFTRA strike (which means it should be – and is – listed at List of productions impacted by the 2023 WGA strike). Affected releases

edit

"This section contains films that completed filming prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but had their release dates affected due to the strike." But there're some films in the section like Blade and Deadpool & Wolverine didn't complete filming prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike. --EzrealChen (talk) 10:43, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
