notability

edit

This has been flagged for notability. The reference to notability has three elements:

  • coverage independent of the owner -- these are recognized by the City of Petaluma which, in general,

is not the owner of the sites. Some are on the National Register of Historic Places and are thus adopted by the City of Petaluma.

  • legally recognized -- these have been established by the City of Petaluma including protected status --

these have some protections because of their status within Petaluma

  • include smaller features within larger features. This includes the smaller features (the individual

sites) within the larger feature -- the group of historic landmarks in Petaluma.

Until the coming of the railroads, Petaluma was the leading city in the County. The City was lucky to have little damage from the 1906 earthquake. Its heritage are reflected in these sites as a whole.

I think the notability notice can be removed.MikeVdP (talk) 22:18, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

photos

edit

The local community will get photos to add to this page. Copyright restrictions prevent use of most on-hand photos. Some pre-1927 images may be available.MikeVdP (talk) 22:34, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you've taken a photo, unless very special circumstances apply (like that you are under contract so that your employer owns the photo), then you own the copyright, and you can upload it and release it for use, at commons.wikimedia.org. --Doncram (talk) 07:26, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Is this the Coca-Cola sign that is landmarked?

Is the photo at right the Coca-Cola sign that is landmarked? If so, add image to list-article... --Doncram (talk) 00:22, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

naming of what these are, and source?

edit

Are these properly called proper noun "Petaluma Historic Landmarks"? What is actual usage by the city or others? A major source is supposed to be available at [=416 https://cityofpetaluma.org/documents/current-historical-landmarks/?filter_categories[]=416], but I can't get to any document there. User:MikeVdP, do you have a copy of that document which you could possibly please email to me? --Doncram (talk) 07:26, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ordering, and not by Healdsburg number?

edit

The column labelled "Healdsburg number" contains numbers from 1 to 22 or so...which have no meaning, right? It seems unlikely to me that these are official historic site designation numbers because they are out of order, relative to Healdsburg council resolution numbers (probably indicating date of resolution). What ordering should be used, instead? --Doncram (talk) 09:47, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
