Talk:List of crossings of the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified (January 2018)

Time to discuss... edit

  • 1) Crossings seem to be completed for bridges; both road and rail; I'm going to take away the "This list is incomplete" tag
  • 2) Powerline crossings of St Lawrence River--let's add this to this list....no need for separate wiki entry...
  • 3) Ferries--I see note of a ferry; likely Sorel.... how about between Baie Comeau and Matane?

etc, etc....

I think I've said enough for now! Bacl-presby 00:16, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Stm logo.jpg edit

Image:Stm logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A crazy idea edit

I am thinking of building one single list of all crossings of the Saint Lawrence/Great Lakes going from the Atlantic Ocean to the Lake of the Woods, modelled after List of bridges in Montreal, which is currently under review at WP:FL. That would mean merging List of crossings of the Niagara River here. (There are currently no lists of crossings upstream of Lake Erie.) -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 02:55, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

There seems to have been no discussion of this proposal for several months, so I'm removing the {{mergefrom}} tag. (Incidentally, there's a distinction to be made between the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the Saint Lawrence River. Shouldn't this have been proposed with regard to the Seaway, and not the River?) Power lines edit

As it is often hard to get and reference complete information about power lines, and they are not of much interest in lists of crossings, I have simply removed the info. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:03, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
