This is an exhaustive list of all scientists, scholars, on the african continent, who were born in Africa. Including foreign born first generation with African parents. Kacembepower (talk) 22:41, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's in Article space - it needs some explanatory text, just a list is not sufficient - that would be better as a category (and probably easier to maintain).  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:52, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Point taken --accept speedy deletion. In fact i already started that. Kacembepower (talk) 00:23, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Instead of deletion, the topic is better served by the list being split up into several subheadings. Personally, I think it should be separated into time (people born in antiquity, 500 AD - 1899 AD, and recently born people) and separated into part of Africa (parts following the linguistic families) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.96.239.183 (talk) 07:44, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

This list bears a somehow elevated risk that it includes people without any notable contributions to science. All names that do not link to an existing article should at least provide a source, or otherwise be removed. Examples:

  • Francis Shasha Matambalya: entry mainly lists where he studied or lectured instead of contributions
  • Emma Tibayungwa: being an IT specialist is hardly relevant without further context
  • Ernest Simo: only mentions that his colleagues died
  • Fredrick Romanus Ishengoma: is not even linked at all

It may well be that such names belong into the list, but that should also be made clear to sceptical readers. --152.84.71.74 (talk) 19:05, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
