Move to simply Limebank?

Per my decision to move the Pimisi station article to Pimisi, I will move this article to Limebank if there is no opposition. As the terminus station, and as the only article with Limebank in its name, I believe this is the best move. --LABcrabs (talk) 18:21, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

• Strong oppose: Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Canadian stations), all Canadian transportation stations should include the word "station" unless the is a really good reason not to. You can check the talk page for the rationale behind this decision. BLAIXX 18:44, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
  • It seems like a fair point, but I'd prefer you talk first before reverting my good faith edit. From the page you linked, I'm going with this reasoning: « If the station has a common name that doesn't include the term "station", always default to the common name per the WP:COMMONNAME policy. » For ambiguous names like Tunney's Pasture, Bayview, uOttawa, Blair, South Keys, etc. yes, I agree to use the "[NAME] station" convention. For non-ambiguous names (Pimisi, Bowesville, Limeback, etc.) which don't have any article using that name, the name alone (without "station") should be used. The only time that OC Transpo tacks on "station" is with automatic audible announcements, or for clarity's sake. The station signage and OC Transpo advertising only use the station name, which is what I also suggest in the very few cases where it is warranted.

Aside: due to your edit on Bay station, I presume that you have some experience with transit articles. I still retain that "Bay station" should be Toronto. Edmonton was renamed in 2009, while Ottawa's "Bay station" only had two bus stops, de facto replaced by Lyon station. --LABcrabs (talk) 23:52, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Sorry for the revert but I'd prefer we have the discussion before moving the page, rather then after it. All potentially controversial moves should really have a discussion as described in WP:RM. The transit naming stations have been heavily debated over the years (mostly before I became an active editor) although lately consensus has been mostly reached to always include "station" as part of the title especially in the US and Canada (see WP:NYCSRFC for the 2019 discussion about NY subway stations). In brief, "Limebank station" gives the reader a better idea what the article is going to be about compared to just "Limebank". You're welcome to try and change the consensus but I don't expect you'll have much success given how much its been discussed before. I have no problem with your RMTR about Toronto's Bay station.
