Propaganda chief
editdoes he not hold that de facto position? I read somewhere (under list of most powerful persons in the world) that he does, or maybe this list is severely outdated. 华钢琴49 (TALK) 01:35, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
What's his official chinese title?
editYeah I know that's what he is, but the whole article is kind of biased. What is his actual offical title supposed to be and what do the Chinese government claim he is supposed to be doing day to day? I know they wouldn't describe his work as simply "propaganda" and "downplaying" criticism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toxee (talk • contribs) 05:19, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Zhou Yongkang
editThe article says that Zhou Yongkang helped oversee Operation Aurora, but the citation, the operation aurora page, and the United States diplomatic cables leak page never mention his name. Should I mark his involvement as uncited or should I remove his name entirely? 74.83.33.194 (talk) 21:37, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- Good BLP practice errs on the side of removing it. Quigley (talk) 21:41, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- I was about to remove it, but then I found it at the citation at the end here. So I will leave it as is. 74.83.33.194 (talk) 22:51, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Controversy from leaked diplomatic cables by Wikileaks
editIt seemed from NYT's reporting, and The Atlantic's piece, that the accuracy/correctness of the U.S. diplomatic cables regarding Li Changchun and the hacking attacks of Google is questionable (the picture painted by the NYT piece is esp. murky), I doubt if it is prudent to include the link to Operation Aurora in the article, esp. regarding this is a biography of living person.---Now wiki (talk) 02:30, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- Just noting that if you decide to remove it here, it is also mentioned in Zhou Yongkang so you may want to remove it there as well. 74.83.33.194 (talk) 04:14, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I went ahead and made the edits on both pages. 74.83.33.194 (talk) 22:13, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
