Mission section NPOV edit

First this has feeling not of being an encyclopedic summary of the the school's mission, but the mission itself copied verbatum. In any opinions are stated as fact. Finally the use of inclusive pronouns "we" "our" is highly problematic. 74.129.10.44 14:39, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

That is because it IS their Mission Statement. It is what their goal is stated to be. To appease you, I will put it in quotes, and cite it from the website.Jtford281 15:20, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Much better, checking the website I found not just the mission, but the section on the state emblem, and the history of the school to be lifted verbatum from the website, which explained the lack of internal links.

It is to be expected that the school has a mission. Almost every private school and most public schools have a stated mission. The stated mission is not exactly unique

Sadly what makes LCHS unique, what gives it statewide recognition--it's athletic program--doesn't get a mention, presumbably because it could not be cut-and-pasted from the school's "About Us" page on the its website. 74.129.10.44 17:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Steroid Usage edit

There are no references given to the claim that Lexington Catholic football players were indicted for steroid usage. Dr. Fredrich Wollard 18:39, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Escutcheon.jpg edit

Image:Escutcheon.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

April 2016 Controversy edit

I added the following edit to the page twice and it was removed. There is no good reason to remove relevant information about the school since there are over 50 news articles and reports that have run this story:

In April 2016, the school made national[1],[2] headlines when a white student was accused of a hate crime against a black student and charged with a "harassing communications and terroristic threatening".[3] The school president Steve Angelucci issued a statement, saying in part, "The image of Lexington Catholic presented in the article does not accurately reflect the culture of faith, caring and kindness we foster at our school. The article honestly caught us by surprise. What actually occurred and how this situation has been handled differs in some important ways from how it was described. Regardless, what is most important here is the welfare of the impacted student. We will continue to examine how our school handled the situation and to learn from this experience. Immediately and moving forward, we are taking the following steps. First, we offer our apologies to the student and family impacted by this. We have tried unsuccessfully to contact them so we could do so directly and in-person. We will continue our attempts to do so. The student’s transcript has been shared with the appropriate school. We will arrange a favorable resolution with the family on the tuition amount due. Secondly, we have also reached out to Dr. Roger Cleveland, EKU associate professor and nationally respected leader in diversity and sensitivity training. In addition to short-term counsel, he will provide our school community ongoing training and workshops to assure that we learn from this difficult situation while continuing to improve our culture and appreciation of diversity. The other student involved in this situation has been suspended from school until our investigation has been completed."[4]Kashykkian (talk) 21:49, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

This is not a newspaper. Short term issues are just that. Read WP:NOTNEWS. This story just broke. Until it is clear where it is going and has widespread, enduring coverage to illustrate that, it has no place here. This is standard for school articles. Since it just broke, there is no way to tell what the long term effects or consequences are. Whomever you contact directly has no bearing on this. Whomevers families are impacted has no bearing on this. If you are not capable of writing about this in a neutral detached matter, you have no business here.
