Discussion
editIf she was upset of doing nude-scenes in a 2004 movie and killed herself, then why wasn't she upset when she did nude-scenes in her 2000 movie "Oh! Soo-jung"? (Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors - English title) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253378/ Fred26 20:52, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I just don't understand Asian culture. Maybe they felt shamed for her doing nudity but it is a shame on their culture for an attitude that leads to a woman killing herself. NorthernThunder 00:40, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Well if you blame the culture, why did she do something contrary to her culture? In short it's not the culture's fault Whodhellknew 14:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Whoever edited the "death" section most recently did a terrible job. It was a badly written mishmash and I've deleted it. There was NO citation of the article that purported to quote her brother so all of that business was deleted. I brought the "death" section back down to just the facts, AS THEY CAN BE CITED. If you have more articles that go further in depth, please cite them in the future. Mathgrenades 06:14, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- It seems as though you are all being judgmental of her. I highly doubt that her suicide was strictly due to the stress of filming nude scenes for a movie; the article states that her family was aware that she had been severely clinically depressed and insomniac for awhile. And the culture does have something to do with it, because her parents and family would not help her. In East Asian culture, it's shameful to have mental or physical disorders. Even your own family will not discuss or address it. It was the same thing with Leslie Cheung. ★Dasani★ 04:55, 21 October 2009 (UTC): It was not my intention to be judgmental. When I re-wrote the death section three years ago, I included the fact that Lee had done a nude scene before, "Virgin Stripped Bare by her Bachelors," and therefore it was extremely unlikely that any nude scene she did subsequently would drive her to suicide. However, someone edited my comments, presumably because they could not be verified. Which is true; that was speculation. If there are articles that have been written since her death, or interviews that refer to her depression, please find them, include them, and cite them if you want to make the death section take a different cast. --Mathgrenades (talk) 18:45, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

editDon't any sources mention the emotional impact that the Korean netizen online discussion communities had on her? 125.69.108.174 (talk) 10:35, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
