Cleaning up plagiarism

This is a great article but contains several direct quotes that are cited, but not properly used. For example, this direct quote spanning several sentences from Hauptman (2008) was included as-is:

She attended Barnard for no more than a year and a half but made a distinct mark on her colleagues. Kellogg wrote a short story for the college’s literary magazine. She also inspired to the following comment in the Mortarboard, the college year book: "Her heart’s desire, to uphold the honor of her ancient race.”

I paraphrased it to this:

At Barnard, she wrote a short story for the college’s literary magazine and was mentioned in the college year book.

I'm going to keep making these adjustments and perhaps record the instances here so if someone thinks I'm just removing content, it's easy to illustrate what I've been up to. Also I only have some of the sources so I can't check them all but it's probably worth someone checking the ones that are most heavily used (Stovey, Stanciu). Paraphrased this plagiarised sentence: Unlike white reformers and even many members of the Society of American Indians, she wanted to blend the wisdom of the elders and the reservation into the education of Indian children.

Deleted this plagiarised sentence (the italics part is plag.)

Kellogg asked why Indians should model themselves on a white society that produced child labor, sweatshops, unsanitary and unsafe working conditions, and concentration of capital and political power in the hands of a few.

Deleted this uncited quote:

"Some of the gravest problems in the country today are to be found in the industrial world of the white man."

Checking Stovey references

Changed

Cornelius once stated that the most influential part of her education came from her "time spend at the soup kettle on the reservation"

to

Cornelius attributed her education to both her "time spend at the soup kettle on the reservation" as well as institutes of higher learning.

because direct quote from Stovey is

She credited her education to the time she spent at the "soup kettle on the reservation," and at the various public and private institutions she attended

Direct quote except the contributor changed "in the shadows" to "low profile":

Throughout their marriage, Kellogg supported his wife in her endeavors, but generally remained low profile, prompting one newspaper to conclude that the best description of Orrin Kellogg would be "as the husband of Mrs. Kellogg."

Kellogg's personality

I'm not sure if this content belongs in the article at all, because it's basically an unsupported description from another encyclopedia, but if it does belong in here, I'm not sure it should be in the section about her husband. Also the source says nothing about the couple's personalities "meshing well"

The personalities of the Kellogg's meshed well together because Laura Cornelius Kellogg typically liked to work alone and had "difficulty sharing the limelight" Consequently, her personality type caused her to have a falling out with society. Kellogg was also widely known for making impulsive decisions, which affected her reputation.
