Ravel's Bolero

The composer Ravel enjoyed his version of Bolero so much that he made special provision in is will so that Adler could play the tune without paying royalties.

False accusations?

What is the source for the claim that Adler was falsely accused of being a communist sympathiser, and thus had to flee the USA? My wonderful Mom took me to see him perform for a dinner show at The Tango Room in Chicago the week of August 17th 1977 for my 21st birthday as I recall. Our table was right next to him and two tables over was Dizzy Gillespie. It was fabulous. At times he was playing 5 feet away. I'm politically a Libertarian, diametrically opposed to Communism, but I think briefly mentioning that he was blacklisted without any links or storyline expanding upon it, does him and his memory a disservice.

Descendants

I find it very unlikely that Larry Adler had a great-grandchild fronting a band in the late 1960s, when he would only have been in his fifties himself. Not sure what this is trying to say though so I'm not going to change it. Aredbeardeddwarf (talk) 18:32, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Date of Death

The photograph of the memorial tablet at Golders Green Crematorium (which is used in this article) clearly states the Date of Death as 07 August 2001 (rather than the oft-quoted 6th August 2001). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Watty62 (talk • contribs) 08:36, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Incorrect information

During the 1950s Adler performed as a break period in the Goon Show radio show. It was Max Geldray, Not Larry Adler.
