Laburnum station is also on the steepest section of track in the metropolitan train network. Sometimes trains can have problems leaving the station heading toward Box Hill, due to lack of traction in certain weather conditions. --Commking 00:12, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Laburnum not being rebuilt for the Grade Seperation? edit

I've heard from one of the workers on the project that the station is not being rebuilt, which was announced to the workers yesterday, contrary to what Metlink and VicRoads say. I was wondering if anyone else knows about this.

Toot-toot sign edit

The recent edit to include a note on the 'toot-toot' sign in not vandalism! As a former local resident, there has been much discussion over the cultural relevance of the old toot-toot sign. Though it is gone forever with the new station upgrade, a plaque has been erected with information about it. I will endeavour to add more information about it should I walk past it. The commemorative plaque has been removed for reasons unknown; luckily I snapped a photo before it went. I updated this section of the page. The Purple Nazz 10:50, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
