Huh? edit

"was a Japanese person in the Edo period. He was a strong gambler. When a village had a famine he helped the village out."? If i hadn't read the japanese article i would have submitted this one for deletion. it needs to be written properly. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 00:26, 4 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Right you are. I have revised Wikiproject Japan assessment to "Mid" importance.
Of course he's not historically so significant. But Kunisada Chuji, with his famous attributed line about the last night on Akagi-yama mountain, is a folk heroic figure portrayed in popular theater. Comparable to the thief Ishikawa Goemon performed in kabuki.
The article is expandable, as you say from the Ja article, though I doubt I would personally engage myself in translating it in the near future. But I have tagged in under "Categ:Culutre articles needing translating from Ja". --Kiyoweap (talk) 06:05, 4 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
