What Is His Name edit

I know that A Rose is a Rose. But His actual name is Vishwas Kumar Sharma.I do not know why is the hub-dub?. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.194.195.113 (talk) 16:54, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is getting really nasty!!! This IP is the official space of Dr Kumar Vishvas. If Wikipedia people don't wish us to allow edit with 'Non-English sources', we dont wish to let Wikipedia to keep this page alive. If you are a human, you should understand that this person is a Hindi poet, and most of the articles related to him are posted on non-english websites. Secondly, if you wish to keep us away from any edit despite providing proper links, we ask you to remove this page from Wikipedia. If wikipedia needs any document to remove this page, we may provide it at any time.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Showstyle (talkcontribs) 05:56, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of Colleges in Performances edit

The list of colleges in performances is increasing everyday, and will keep increasing. I do not feel that these are of an encyclopedic value. So, I suggest removing this list. мαуαηк·αвнιѕнєк talk · contribs 15:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

As the below comment shows, this article now purely seems handiwork of some of his fans. If anyone specializes in Living persons biography, a clean-up is required. ~Romil — Preceding unsigned comment added by Romilsworld (talkcontribs) 20:04, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Only Notable & Reliable sources should be added edit

Please do not add any new entry without citation under Notable performances[1]. Read carefully Wikipedia guidelines WP:GNG before adding any new entry to maintain its standards. Sourced entries must be notable as well as reliable WP:RS. Do not add blogs and social media as a reference link (Read WP:SPS). Discuss here if you have any issue related with it.

Satya563 (talk) 06:54, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

To add to the above, please do not use fake news websites and tabloids such as delhi journal or media sarkar. Ditto for silly news channels like republic tv. Times of India is best avoided. The Hindu, Indian Express, The Wire, News laundry, and (interestingly!) Prasar Bharati / Door Darshan tend to be more reliable as it is difficult for people to pay and get news published / aired in them, as anyone who has lived sufficiently in India knows. Purpose of this talk page edit

The purpose of this talk page is to discuss improvements to the article. It is not the place to insert your preferred version of the article in toto. I have just removed one such attempt to do so. Please also note that Wikipedia is not intended to be a fan site - feel free to create such a thing elsewhere, but not here. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 06:30, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have just removed three edit requests made by an IP that effectively reinstated a terrible version of this article on this talk page. That is an inappropriate use of the edit request facility.

If you object to any of the recent edits made by me to the article then feel free to challenge them here, but not by posting your "fan club" version. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 16:44, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have removed a further umpteen reposts of the old version of this article. Please see WP:EDITREQ if you want to attempt an reinstatement, although I would strongly advise you to discuss the issue rather than merely request it. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 23:52, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit requests edit

Please don't post content to the talk page. If you have a specific edit request, please state it clearly on this page along with an explanation. If your edit request is that the article be moved back to an earlier version, then, rather than cutting and pasting the earlier version into the article, please leave a link to that version with a clear explanation as to why that version is a better one. I don't want to have to semi-protect the talk page but will do so if that's the only way out. --regentspark (comment) 16:11, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Yeah, I got a request--will you please remove that "list of venues" or whatever that peacocky puffery is? Thanks. 66.168.247.159 (talk) 00:19, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Recent sourcing edit

Given that one source in this edit is a blog and The Hindu source doesn't even mention the guy, I'm not inclined to accept this non-English source without at least a translation. We need to ensure verifiablity - please see WP:NOIENG. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 05:39, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the addition of Vancouver (Canada) as one of the places of his performances, was done based on a you tube video posted of the kavi sammelan in Vancouver (2013).

Why do you feel this is not a reliable reference? Notthebestusername (talk) 02:12, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The issue is not one of reliability but rather that we cannot possibly list every performance he has given - there are hundreds of them. The paragraph just shows a selection by way of example. If we add this one then we'd have to remove another. I suppose that someone might start List of performances by Kumar Vishwas but I'm pretty sure that it would be deleted as a trivial article. - Sitush (talk) 16:58, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Fancruft edit

Regarding this edit, words like "renowned" and "celebrated" are typical of fan-like behaviour and have no place in an encyclopaedia. In addition, there was unexplained removal of content that a typical fan might consider to be critical of their idol. It isn't good enough, sorry. - Sitush (talk) 13:00, 12 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I should add that the article is out of date. Did he not get into a spat with the AAP earlier this year? And haven't there been news stories pointing out that his "stardom" in many ways resulted from the exposure gained in his election defeat by Gandhi, eg: the Google invite? - Sitush (talk) 13:03, 12 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Clean up edit

Hi everyone,

I have started to clean up this wiki. I have removed Peacock words, corrected grammatical errors (there were so many of them!) and typos, added information based on existing citations and added wikilinks. Hope now the wiki looks more objective and readable. Please let me know if you feel anything else is needed, else I think the tag to top of the wiki can be removed. Information based on interviews edit

Hi everyone, As a follow up to the above, I had added much information to this wiki over the past 2 months, however, much of it was removed by an editor, stating that they had citations , but were mostly interviews by Vishwas (albeit, to reputed journalists and media houses) and not secondary sources. While I see the point, I don't think this information should be removed - it should instead either be categorized as 'better citation needed" or should start with a disclaimer phrase such as "According to interviews done by Vishwas".

Else, it prevents people from learning about someone who has been an influential member (out of many) of an interesting political party that might well be (or at least appears to be trying to) changing the face of the largest democracy. It is well possible that these people might disappear entirely from the public eye in 10 years, but till they are here, data should be given.

After all, a lot of information about well known people (including Benjamin Franklin and Warren Buffett) is primarily based on books written by them (in the case of the former) and interviews done by them (in the case of the latter). Hence I am following the same method that has been used in the Belle Gibson wiki (though I am not suggesting Vishwas to be a scamster!), Franklin and Buffett, undoing those changes and adding the phrase "as per interviews by Vishwas". Trust that will improve the quality of this wiki. I have retained later edits made by others, as they seem good and relevant. As usual, I have removed fanography :) Notthebestusername (talk) 04:57, 10 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

He says he is still a member of Aam Aadmi Party edit

@Venkat TL: Regrading this edit. In [2] source Vishwas says he is still a member of Aam Aadmi Party. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:58, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Fylindfotberserk very strange. BTW HT headline mentions him as Former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas's security to be reviewed: Govt sources. So I suggest we give more weightage to the reliable source and categorize as former member. I am not sure what AAP's stand is on this. Do you know? Venkat TL (talk) 16:03, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Venkat TL: I don't think we can deny self-identification here, he specifically says that "he didn't resign from the party and wasn't expelled". He went on to say that some people want to spread fake news. The source is also verified. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:23, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alright, fair enough, I will self revert. I honestly did not know that they had not resigned neither expelled. Sorry for the trouble. Venkat TL (talk) 16:25, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Venkat TL: OK. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:27, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
