I can help with some of this but I am simply not an expert in the subject. Coinmanj (talk) 02:51, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Coinman: I have been working on these quite a bit therse last few weeks as I have considerable experience and literary resources to share. The downside is that I am just learning how to edit these articles and can use all the help I can get so that I solve more problems than I case, yes? Just to show you what a newb I am I have yet to figure out how to use the template to sign my name to these posts or to download pictures. --Bruce W Sims (talk) 18:53, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
It looks like there is a lot of great content here, it just needs to be reorganized better. The first major step I would take is to try to wikify the paragraphs, by putting square brackets around any main idea. That can help you determine where paragraph breaks need to be, and how to move sentences around when you are changing topics. I can help on this article a little bit, I have some spare time. Also, the Teahouse is a great place to ask questions, the people there are really awesome. And to sign your signature, you can click the little blue pencil icon above the edit box, or type the ~ (beside the 1, using the shift key) key four times. --NickPenguin(contribs) 00:33, 17 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Folks: This just a quick run-down on what I have been doing. Probably the single biggest editing job was to reduce all of the smaller sword variants to their original articles. What I did was delete the material for a given variant and integrate it with the material on the "home" page. In this way, the Kumdo material went to the Kumdo page, the HaeDong Kumdo to that page and so forth. I want to continue with the BON KUK GEOM BEOP material on this page. I need for people who made contributions to this page to follow-up to the respective page reflecting their particular expertise to double-check my editing in those other places. Help? I have also begun to enhance the article with pictures and will be combing WIKI for images germane to the subject. FWIW.--Bruce W Sims (talk) 18:03, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, I supposed "BON KUK GEOM BEOP" is just the alternative or native name for this article topic. But why must articles on anything related to Korean culture always devolve into a long and rambling essay about the Stone Age and Korean history in general?

This article is Korean swordsmanship, and not Korean sword. Material pertaining purely to morphology, including archaeological finds, belong on that article.

This article should probably be structured in three main parts:

  • early references (before 1600), viz. legendary origins,
  • the historical manuals (1610 to 1790)
  • modern revival

All of them must be properly sourced of course. Reconstruction attempts based on the historical manuals should be treated in the section on the revival and attributed to whoever published them. --dab (𒁳) 12:20, 10 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
