Currency unit edit

MEUR is a very creative invention of a new currency symbol (stands probably for "million Euro"). I would like to change it, but I am unsure about the Wikipedia standards. Kwally (talk) 06:09, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Changing the style of the article edit

Restocking added a note on Konecranes article on May 2015 about saying that "This article contains content that is written like an advertisement. Please help improve it by removing promotional content and inappropriate external links, and by adding encyclopedic content written from a neutral point of view". The article has been edited a lot since that and now I and the Konecranes folks would like to rewrite the article so that we can get rid of that warning. Any ideas where to start? I am pinging here users who have edited the page during the past years (Juskevich, A1krosti, Pollae, Xibaokiina, Nouill, Manandurge, ButtonwoodTree, Nosebagbear, Djflem, Saralicia, IceKarma) so that you will notice my question. And yes, I am doing this for this on behalf of Konecranes.--Jjanhone (talk) 09:10, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is my understanding that Konecranes should not be editing its own article. Am I incorrect? Restocking (talk) 12:13, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Companies can edit articles if they follow Wikipedia principles and inform about their edits. See [4]. But you did not answer my question about the "content that sounds like ads". What should be removed? --Jjanhone (talk) 10:41, 7 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Restocking removed the tag (thanks!) but Hayman30 added it back. Why? Can you tell me what should be changed to get it permanently removed? --Jjanhone (talk) 10:52, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
As Restocking who had added the tag has now removed it and Hayman30 who have added it back has not told reasons for that I have removed the tag. If someone addeds it back again I hope to get some kind of rationale behind the decision. Thanks! --Jjanhone (talk) 09:51, 17 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed Merger of this article and Demag edit

I propose that Demag be merged into Konecranes. The two companies have merged and they both have large articles that could be condensed. Any input, especially from users not employed by the companies, is appreciated. Restocking (talk) 14:04, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

edit

A paid editor made contributions to this article, and has disclosed that fact on this page, therefore the {{paid contributions}} is a matter of fact and does not require discussion. Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:39, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

According to the policy "if you place the Paid tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article." As a paid editor I'm not allowed to remove the tag myself, but if any volunteer editor thinks that the neutral point of view of the article is ok, they are free to remove the tag as told in the Template:Paid contributions instructions: "If you do not start this discussion, then any editor is justified in removing the tag without warning."Jjanhone (talk) 16:48, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: adding the Awards section back edit

Last year a user removed a chapter about awards/recognition that had been referenced with quality sources. Could it be added partly back? See my suggestion below. Jjanhone (talk) 07:00, 12 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Original chapter Awards:

  • Konecranes’ "Smarter Cabin" crane cabin won the prestigious Finnish Fennia Prize in 2012. Thanks to the 60 percent larger window area the smarter cabin gives the driver remarkably improved visibility. The observers were not only observed but also interviewed.   Not done for now: First, the raw text pasted in is not helpful; please cite references with the proper WP:Citation templates, which can be done with tools in the editor interface. Second, in general, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list, nor is it a platform for promotion (See WP:NOT, WP:PROMO). For awards, a self-citation is not at all sufficient: the award needs to be noteworthy in its own right, which typically means a reliable, independent source has covered the award to company. That excludes things like press releases, for example. Feel free to resubmit your request with the proper formatting and with the guidelines linked above in mind. Article assessment edit

Greetings, For this article I changed from Class-stub to Class-start. I added one CN tag, needed to verify year the business listed on the stock exchange. Also, there are numerous Press Release citations which are from the company website, and not independent reliable sources. For the section Konecranes and Cargotec (2020-2022), the word informed is used multiple times, and the grammatical usage is confusing. Try other words to clarify the meaning. The Business operations section resembles advertising vs. encyclopedia style. The Rater ORES prediction tool rates as Class-C, however for the reasons I stated, Class-start is sufficient for now. Overall the article is well written, just needs improvement. Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 14:18, 25 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
