Why would anyone remove that beautiful image of Kate? The rights are all in order, the image was posted by the photographer. Stop removing the images. If you don't like where it is, then move it, but don't just remove it. That rubbish has to stop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.126.242.84 (talkcontribs)

As a teenager she suffered junk in the trunk... king habit, with which she still struggles.

More relevant for People magazine piece than an encyclopedia article. Many women suffer from anorexia and/or smoke, unless this has some special bearing on her work as an actress, why mention it? --Lexor 07:47, 5 Oct 2003 (UTC)

I agree. Also, she is a work of art. We should include that. Poromenos 21:45, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Regarding Beckinsale's Burmese ancestry: the internet is rife with references to her maternal grandfather being Burmese. However, biographies of Kate's father, Richard Beckinsale, indicate that _he_ was the parent with Burmese ancestry, rather than Kate's mother, Judy Loe. So which is it? El Draque 12:41, 12 September 2005 (UTC)

You probably read about her mother being Burmese on the IMDB. That would be just another of the many howling errors, joing Jamie Lynn Discala's mother being Greek or Burt Reynolds's mother being Italian. I frankly think IMDB should become like Wikipedia and let the sensible correct the mistakes of the ignorant.

IMDB does allow corrections - its just taht there is a delay whilst additions are "vetted". It now reads "Richard Beckinsale's maternal grandfather - her great-grandfather - was Burmese." -- Beardo 00:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Eh, for every mistake it "vetts" there are 10 it doesn't. This is why most of the junky trivia sites out there now use Wikipedia info, while once they used IMDB. This is also why IMDB needs to, well, probably outright fire anyone in charge of accepting trivia, and hire me, :) or anyone who at least cares to verify the trivia before posting it, as well as go over the info already posted, since so much is outright wrong. Mad Jack 08:16, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Anyway, her father was 1/4th Burmese "In fact, Beckinsale is faintly sloe-eyed, and as a child she says she was "very oriental-looking". This is a legacy from her father, actor Richard Beckinsale, who was a quarter Burmese." [1]

I am going to take her out of Multiracial, Eurasian, etc. because clearly she'd be just 1/8th Burmese. Vulturell 08:45, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

Relationship with Jim Norton.

I removed the Norton refernce. She isn't dating him yet. They met on the Tonight show when the both appeared and he invited her to one of his shows in New York City. Nothing further has come from this.

Someone added it and enhances the story just to add a wiki link to Opie & Anthony. Their fans do this all over the web in a desperate attempt at getting Opie & Anthony’s name out there. Redd Dragon 03:29, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Paternal or maternal

This article claims Kate Beckinsale's grandfather was maternal Burmese, while the Kate Beckinsale article claims paternal, so which is it? One of these articles is incorrect. (For now, since on this talk page it claims maternal, I am going to switch it to that, but someone can change it if they find evidence otherwise.) Эйрон Кинни (t) 02:15, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Kate's maternal great-grandfather would be on HER mother's side. Not the same thing as Richard's maternal parentage. -- Beardo 05:50, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Nothing claims maternal except for the IMDB and the various trivia sites that copied it, including at one point Wikipedia. This is a good source, straight out of Beckinsale's mouth.[2] Mad Jack 06:52, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
And I suspect IMDB got it from a misreading of Wikipedia! (But its impossible to tell as IMDB doesn't give history). -- Beardo 23:06, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

It is a paternal connection, as shown above. MarkThomas 17:18, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I've just been watching an ITV documentary on her father ("The Unforgettable Richard Beckinsale") which says that he said he was 1/8th Burmese, which means that it would be one of Kate's great-great-grandparents who was Burmese. -- Arwel (talk) 16:16, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

External links

I would like to add at least one fansite link to the article, as is the case with very many other film star pages. I propose this one 1 - any other suggestions? It was previously deleted by an admin but from a discussion on the Village Pump here, this does not appear to be a formalised policy. MarkThomas 17:18, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Correct information

The movie "Haunted" is from 1995, not 2003, as stated. See at IMDB. - —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.218.208.14 (talkcontribs) on 10:37, 13 December 2006

Indeed - that was added a little while ago. Bizarre. But you could have corrected it. -- Beardo 02:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

OU Insider Babe Tourney??

Is this relevant? OUinsider.com is merely an OU sports/recruiting web ring ran by Oklahoma Sooners fans that happens to be affiliated with ESPN. I don't think this is the type of award that merits being included ,especially with the rest. Basically a handful of OU Sooner 20 somethings think she's hot - that's not really important. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.92.177.229 (talk) 22:15, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Full name

Out of curiosity, where did we get the full name Kathryn Bailey Beckinsale? I've never seen that listed anywhere...

It's from the IMDB Birth Names[1] index - probably correct, most of the IMDB ones are, although alas it also does contain errors sometimes. Not seen it anywhere else at all and I have followed Ms Beckinsale for many years. MarkThomas 19:41, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Y'know... I tried following her once... She wasn't best pleased.86.31.111.119 01:37, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

lol It's called 'obssession'. Most physically attractive women unfortunately have to endure men that lack self-control and appropriation (until their man quickly comes over & smashes your face in). These types of 'obssessed' men also get nowhere fast. I say leave a woman alone *esp. actresses* unless you're conducting official business like 'interviewing' or even something quick and modest like an 'autograph' or a very VERY! brief conversation. Other than that, stay away from them. --Ulterion (talk) 19:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not one to often accuse others of howlingly missing the point, but I believe 86 was punning on the alternative meaning of 'following'.87.194.43.133 (talk) 23:38, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Following - (transitive) To go or come after in physical space.
  • ex: Follow that car!
  • Stalk - To (try to) follow or contact someone constantly, often resulting in harassment.
Pretty close to each other if you ask me! He was referring to physically following her, not figuratively (as in following a train of thought). I'm just saying it's best to not 'follow' actors and/or actresses (especially actresses) to avoid being labeled a stalker/harasser. They don't like being pestered by random people they don't know and will often get you locked up for it. So, just don't! --Ulterion (talk) 05:08, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Ulterion, I'm sorry to say you've really missed the point here. 86 ('twas me) was riffing off of MarkThomas' statement, of figuratively 'following' (OED CDv2, senses 10,11) with literally 'following' (OED CDv2, senses 1,3,5). At no point did 86 ever really mean that he/she actually, in reality, stalked Beckinsale. It was a pun. A joke. A play on words. I promise not to do it again. But thank you for the free, unsolicited, advice; I don't know what I'd've done without it.87.194.43.133 (talk) 20:39, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, pardon me for the lack of understanding/interpretation. It flew right over my head! LoL.. I'm just trying to give sound advice jic anyone literally attempts to 'follow' any (actor/actress)'s because there're some potentially serious consequences for those that dare swim in deep waters if approach isn't warranted by the individual first. --Ulterion (talk) 04:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Malays ?

Theb categories European-Malays and English-Malays have been added. We don't need both - but is there any source for either. The article says her ancestry is Burmese, not Malay. -- Beardo 17:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Information about Underworld at bottom of page

At the bottom of this biography page about Kate Beckinsale there is a table with information about her Underworld movies. Should this be there? I was surprised that a table about just one of her acting projects was on her biography page. Shouldn't this be somewhere else, with a link perhaps from this page? I didn't want to remove information that someone obviously spent time and effort making, and it's a great table. I also don't know where to move it to? Or perhaps it should be there? So I thought I'd post on the talk page so someone else could decide what to do about this. 77.99.164.88 (talk) 02:33, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

I agree... it seems extremely misplaced. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 17:40, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Underworld Rise of the Lycans

Kate IS in this movie. Why do people keep removing her from the credits on her page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.16.161.188 (talk) 17:32, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, she is in the movie in the intro and outro scenes. They were originally filmed for Underworld_(2003_film) and are reused here (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=9115). She is listed in the end titles (http://s5.tinypic.com/2z4idyb.jpg), in the Underworld:_Rise_of_the_Lycans Wikipedia article and on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0834001/fullcredits#cast) so the next revert should probably have a pretty good explanation why the credit should not be listed in this article. 80.95.152.134 (talk) 09:28, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Bloody Disgusting

One of the links in this article is to Bloody Disgusting, which claims Kate will be appearing in Underworld 4. Kate herself has not confirmed this, nor has anybody associated with the film. BD itself even states that the "source" is not anyone associated with film or the studio itself. The writer himself even flat-out stated this is nothing more than a rumor. A later article cites Variety magazine, but I have found no evidence that this alleged article even exists, or that it says what BD claims it does. Since this article is just speculation (whereas the Variety article would be official), it needs to be removed until an official one can be found. My idea being that there's no website confirming what Kate allegedly told Variety except BD, which I find somewhat strange, as at least one of her fansites should have picked up on that, or any of the other upcoming movie sites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.138.112.29 (talk) 19:37, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Edited to add: I went through all of Variety's articles from the time period when BD posted their comment. The only articles of relevance were two on the 4th movie that didn't mention Kate at all, and one saying they're transforming the 1st film into 3D. There is not a single article that actually says what BD claims it does. Since there's no evidence Kate is signed on, and it directly contradicts quotes from her saying she isn't part of it, as well as quotes from the writer also saying she isn't signed on, this reference needs to be removed. There's no factual evidence she's in the movie at all. 71.21.111.49 (talk) 13:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Userbox image

Hello. I'm fine with the image reversion, but I'm open to discussion as well. I'm simply trying to find the truest slightly-enhanced version of the original image. The current one, imo, really is too green/blue, and is so overbrightened, details have been washed out. The original image is warmer; my version wasn't right either (the ambient colors were too saturated). I've uploaded a better version, which follows the standard three-point color correction (black, white, midgray) here (my original upload used a color correction process for landscapes, which was my mistake). Also, a conversation of note is taking place at Commons, here. Is the new image better suited for this article then? – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 16:09, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

The new image looks fine to me. Sorry for not bringing it to discussion earlier! Popeye191 (talk) 17:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Great, I'll re-add it then. No worries on the original revert, and great job with the GA! – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 00:13, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Step-brothers

http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/50150/Kate-Beckinsale-Takes-Over-From-Halle-Berry-As-Sexiest-Woman-Alive

In this article, along with several others, she notes that she has four step brothers, should this be mentioned anywhere, such as the early life section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.14.48.104 (talk) 12:54, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

They don't qualify as early life, as they have only been her stepbrothers since 1997, when her mother married their father. Jim Michael (talk) 18:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

She has an elder step-sister too, as mentioned in her fathers wiki entry about his passing while she was young. Either way the statement that she has no siblings has to be seen as misleading at best.. and is in fact utterly factually incorrect--MRNasher (talk) 19:30, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

She *is* the only child of the married couple Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe. Her father had a child with another woman before Kate was born - this is mentioned in the early life section. Her mother went on to have a relationship with Roy Battersby but they didn't marry until Kate was much older. Battersby had five children and this is mentioned in the early life section too.

  • Well the more I get to know Kate B. the more I like her. However, there is a lot more to know. Since she is so stunning, successful and well-spoken, I wondered what kinds of commercial spokesmanships she might have. Google search results for the term "Kate Beckinsale" commercial lead you to Coke, Diet Coke, Absolut Vodka, Gap and Lux (or maybe it was this Lux company) commercials on the first page. Clearly, the article needs to devote some space to this subject.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 18:37, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

    • One last issue in this regard. The google search seems to suggest she did both Coke and Diet Coke ads, but you only mention DC.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:32, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
There are some references to Coke ads but when you investigate the links, they all lead to the Diet Coke commercial. I think they were just using Coke as shorthand for the Coca-Cola brand.Popeye191 (talk) 20:07, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Good idea - moved Popeye191 (talk) 14:35, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
  • I just realized that we did not teach the reader her career progression properly. It seems she started on stage at Oxford, got some TV roles, then began doing movies, she continued to mix in TV, stage and radio until the late 1990s and has since been exclusively big screen. Polish this summary up and put it towards the top of the LEAD.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 20:44, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
I've now made reference to her earliest tv work. Some of the British costume dramas mentioned were aired on television rather than film (Emma) - does this require further clarification? Lead now states she went to the US for "film work". Would the stage work at Oxford require special mention as part of her career? It was student theatre rather than professional, paid work. Popeye191 (talk) 21:53, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

It is not clear to me that these works were on TV. It seems that only Emma was a TV movie. Maybe say British film and TV costume dramas.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:25, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Early Life
  • As I look more and more, I keep finding that I am satisfied with large swaths of text. This thing is not going to need any major surgery from what I have seen so far. I have not seen much of the main body, but hope it looks as good as the top section. --TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:23, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Early roles
  • As much as I like Much Ado About Nothing (It is the first movie I recall where the black guy gets to ride in on the white horse), describing this as "her first major role" needs some explanation. It was not a Lead role. Her billing was quite modest on the movie posters and in the credits. I am not even sure if she had a main supporting role.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:39, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
You're right. It was the first of her films to receive a cinematic release but the wording was misleading. Hope it's clearer now Popeye191 (talk) 12:33, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Do you have a source that describes this as her breakout role?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 13:14, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I've changed the wording but People, for example, say "Beckinsale's star turn in Kenneth Branagh's 1993 adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing established her as a screen presence at the age of 20." Popeye191 (talk) 13:23, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I would feel much better describing an almost unbilled role in which she established herself as a screen presence as a breakout role than a starring role. I think this was her breakout role. What about using that adjective.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 13:42, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
It just says "the role of Hero" now. It is definitely more than an unbilled part - Much Ado is about two couples - Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero. She appeared in lots of publicity photos in advance of the film. And I'd prefer not to use the term "breakout" - I think that better describes her appearance Pearl Harbour. Popeye191 (talk) 14:50, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I mentioned in the Early Life section that she left Oxford before graduating - should I repeat it here? Popeye191 (talk) 12:33, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

  • How do you interpret "Ms. Beckinsale's Emma is plainer looking than Ms. Paltrow's"? Kate isn't any plainer looking than Gwyneth if you ask me. Not sure about appearances in the roles. Did they make her up to look unduly frumpy or something?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 20:10, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Kate looked quite different in the earlier years of her career; definitely not as glamourous as she is now. Also, the Emma film with Paltrow was much frothier and glossier. Popeye191 (talk) 12:33, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
My personal opinion is that Kate never looked significantly less glamourous than Paltrow, but you have a WP:RS. I think Gwyneth just has great spin doctors myself. Did Kate have some Butch period or something that I don't remember?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 13:19, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Maybe she looked a lot less glam than I remember for a period. I see this photo now. I still don't think Gwyneth was that much hotter.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 13:22, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Kate as Emma, Gwyneth as Emma - it's not an important point, I mainly included it to try to remain objective and unbiased! As an aside, Kate did have a pretty butch phase in the mid-90s.

A commercial success - I have clarified the point now Popeye191 (talk) 12:33, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Move to Hollywood
  • When you mention someone multiple times like Todd McCarthy, just use the last name after the first mention.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:02, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
  • Also, you don't need to keep mentioning the affiliated newspaper (Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times). It may be possible to say Chicago Sun-Times critic Ebert on a second mention, but not every time.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:02, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I'm a bit confused about the last two points. When first mentioned, it should be [full name] + [newspaper]. On the second and subsequent mentions, should it be [surname] + [newspaper] or just [surname]?Popeye191 (talk) 15:30, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
First, I must say that there were even more notable critics than I had hoped for. Glad to see so much information about people who critiqued her. In response to your issue, we expect the reader to remember what we told him before in the text. Only surnames after first mention. In truth, once you say what media source the critic was affiliated with you need not mention it again, but if the name appears several times you can mention the source a 2nd time, although preferably not. However, if he voices his opinion in different fora, make sure to mention each one as appropriate. E.g., if he says something in the newspaper for one movie and while commenting during his TV show during another make this clear.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:10, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I have edited the article so that only the author's surname appears on second and subsequent mentions. I think the policy is expecting a lot of wiki readers though - personally, if I read an opinion of "Claudia Puig of USA Today" in paragraph one and read an opinion of "Puig" in paragraph eight, I wouldn't remember who that was or what weight to give to her opinion Popeye191 (talk) 22:09, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
We just expect them to know how to use Crtl-f if they forgot the person. A regular reader knows if only a surname appears, the full name was mentioned above.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:36, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
That makes sense Popeye191 (talk) 20:16, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

"Voice only" comment from filmography table has been removed. Underworld 3 flashback info has been moved to the "Return to small-scale drama" section Popeye191 (talk) 06:09, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Movie article credits her as narrator too. Why not mention in this article?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 12:52, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
I've taken a look at the movie article. While it says she was the narrator, the source offered only refers to the 2003 footage. I haven't found any legitimate reference which mentions that she did a voiceover. Kate herself has said in interviews that she didn't work on Underworld 3. No, I would have liked to include a section on charity work but there isn't much to work with. She has hosted a couple of parties for different charities over the years and said in an interview that the British Heart Foundation is her charity of choice (because of her father's early death). However, she isn't a patron or spokesperson for any charity, and hasn't been involved in any notable fundraising efforts.Popeye191 (talk) 21:04, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
What do you mean by hosted parties. Are these events that have been discussed in the public domain since she attained celebrity?
Is there a way to include and link the British Heart Foundation with sourced content in a paragraph with her parties? Would it be a stretch?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:31, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Added a few lines about charity work in the Personal Life section - see what you think (supported by bare refs until I get a chance to fix it later today). Also, the paragraph about smoking/alcohol looks very flimsy - should I add a couple of quotes or leave it be? Popeye191 (talk) 15:42, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Name (Romany, not Bailey)

Where did "Bailey" come from??? Her name is Kate Romany Beckinsale (look up source 1) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Excaliboor (talkcontribs) 06:52, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Since last change (in this article) from "Bailey" to "Romany" I've digged into really the heap of sources - but have not found any records about Kates full name, neither "Bailey" or "Romany". Most sources including IMDB just copy wiki information. Of course "DMail" is such an competent source, but (IMHO) it seems better to find at least one other source which mentions Kates second name (the source with it's own information, not copy-pasting one). So, it seems better to save current version, at least it is something like tradition to call Kate Beckinsale with this second name )).. Vladmax (talk) 18:06, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Surprisingly, "Romary" is correct. That's what the British Birth Records (available at ancestry.com, for example) state, corroborated here. Her birth name is "Kathrin" also. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 16:43, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Pictures of other actors?

Why are there so many pictures of other actors who co starred with her? This is really unusual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.230.204.195 (talk) 05:28, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

I was thinking the same thing. I removed one but will see what others think. --Mollskman (talk) 01:48, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
I added the pictures because it was suggested in a peer review of Michael Sheen's article that related pictures should be added to make a longish article less daunting for the reader. I have no objections if you want to remove them. Popeye191 (talk) 13:44, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Is this what wiki has come to?

Gossip mags being used to detail unencyclopedic allegations about personal relationships? Her fans should instead stick to fan sites rather than injecting garbage in to wikipedia. 108.172.114.141 (talk) 22:03, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Grandfather's grandfather was Burmese

Should this even be included? Has she made note of it? --Mollskman (talk) 15:24, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

I see no reason it should be in the header at all. It is an extremely small amount.Duhon (talk) 13:21, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Can someone explain why info about her ancestry was removed from "Early life"? Is there a particular reason why is this not allowed? Or undesired? Pessimist2006 (talk) 17:13, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Allrighty then, I'm restoring it, considering her being part Burmese isn't something disputable. Pessimist2006 (talk) 22:55, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
She has made note of it by stating she looked "very Oriental" as a child. Also, her grandfather's father was Burmese. Her grandfather was half Burmese. ToriJana (talk) 19:13, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Poor taste and irrelevant junk

I agree with the prior comment in general terms. Parts of this article are unacceptably gossipy. That would not be so bad if the material in question simply amounted to overenthusiastic fan talk, but there should not and must not be any subtle (or unsubtle) denigration of the subject.

Ms. Beckinsale has a significant career as a professional actor. Her appearances in absurd lists of "most (something) in the world" clearly do not belong in any encyclopedia. For similar reasons, the budgets, gross receipts and profits of films in which Beckinsale has appeared are irrelevant and offensive. Beckinsale was one of many actors appearing in the films discussed here. She bears no responsibility for financial success or failure. Any reader looking for such details can easily follow links to relevant information about specific films.

I strongly maintain that such unrelated trivia ought to be excised from the article. However, because editors here have clearly devoted a lot of time and energy to the page, I am not going to take such a drastic action unilaterally. Instead, I request that the points I am making be carefully considered in discussions here, leading to a cleanup. Dratman (talk) 04:15, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Definitely agree. I have removed some of the uber personal, unencyclopedic crap. There is probably more that needs to be removed. The entire article projects an image vastly bigger than the relatively obscure actress she is. 71.226.193.9 (talk) 23:21, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Insert reference?

In 2016, she appeared in the critically acclaimed Love & Friendship, for which her performance received worldwide praise.

In the header paragraph, can a reference be inserted? I always consider such sweeping statements as both a (gentle) irritant and opportunity. Gprobins (talk) 15:24, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

No mention of Russian fluency

I'm curious as to why there is no reference to her speaking fluent Russian? I remember Stephen Colbert mentioning this fact when she appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, just before they did a bit in which she taught him how to say silly things in Russian.
