Promotional tone, extraneous detail

edit

Here is an example of the promotional tone and extraneous detail that single-purpose account Gemmamerritt has been inserting. David appeared in a two-part episode of cast Castle. Fine: An actress makes a guest appearance on a show's two-part episode, it seems worth mentioning. But not this:

As stated by Examiner, the ratings for this episode took a huge leap and won the time slot with 9.6 million viewers. It also claimed the title of the most watched drama overall on a Monday night. David also appeared in the second episode of this two-part storyline, on February 25, 2013, in the USA.[1] The fifth season of Castle is due to begin airing in the UK on March 20, 2013.[2]

I could give many, many more examples, which already are visible in the diffs. --Tenebrae (talk)

Conflict of interest

edit

I've placed a COI tag regarding User:Gemmamerritt, who appears to be a publicist who has made virtually no edits except to this and similar singer's article. A year's gone by, and that editor is still at it, shamelessly.--Tenebrae (talk) 03:02, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Is the COI tag still appropriate? There doesn't seem to be anything overly promotional about the tone of the article as it now stands, I don't see any WP:BLP red flags, there's no "Isn't she wonderful?" language and it has sources up the wazoo. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 23:48, 10 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Gemmamerritt:. So you're aware, in cases where indisputably RS sources say different things, we include both. See Mariah Carey, Lil' Kim, Arsenio Hall and others. I've adjusted the lead here appropriately. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:05, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Origin

edit

Seems there has been some disagreement on labeling her origin in the lead. Would it be sufficient to list her as an "Indian-Canadian-British" actress?

Date of birth

edit

As there's an edit war I figured now would be a great time to come here,
The ELLE source makes no mention of either years ?..... Her age is on there but that's it,
If it's a case that Karen is an editor in disguise then we can still remove the DOB as per BLPPRIVACY ... just throwing that out there. –Davey2010Talk 23:51, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

How would she go about confirming this so that the birth year can be removed once and for all? 2.220.97.46 (talk) 22:14, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Source for her British citizenship? And how come it says in the opening paragraph that she is Canadian?

edit
Yet she isn't listed as Canadian in the categories, but she does as a British person who resided in England?
Perhaps someone got confused because of her residence in British Columbia (Canada)?
And if she is married to a Swedish-born musician who lives in the USA, is she eligible for a citizenship from either of these? 79.178.82.124 (talk) 03:28, 14 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
