Greetings! I am Ron, an employee at Tron DAO. I am here to request edits to this article's infobox with rather basic updates. My proposed infobox updates includes the following improvements:

  • Adds an image of Justin Sun
  • Adds Sun's role as Permanent Representative of Grenada to the World Trade Organization
  • Updates Term to reflect his role at at the WTO
  • Adds Sun's honorific prefix
  • Adds "Diplomat" under Occupation
  • Adds "Founder of Tron" under Known for
  • Adds url to Website

The current article's infobox is outdated (failing to mention Sun's WTO role) and inaccurate (he is no longer CEO of Rainberry, Inc.). The "short description" is also outdated, as it currently lists "Tech entrepreneur"; this could read "Diplomat and tech entrepreneur".

If editors agree this is an improvement, I ask if you could update the infobox on my behalf. I am not editing the article directly because of my conflict of interest.

@Ron at Tron: The image of Justin Sun has been deleted because you do not appear to own copyright of the image as claimed during upload. WP:Copyright violations is a very serious issue and may carry legal consequences. @CX Zoom: Thank you for this message. To be clear: I did not upload this image to Wikimedia Commons. That was done by another editor, although I can't find the history on Wikimedia Commons since it has been deleted. I had included the image in my proposed infobox because it was in Wikimedia Commons, but if the uploader did not do so properly, I understand why it was deleted. @CX Zoom: Wired UK uses the honorific "His excellency" in this story. If this source does not work for you, we can move forward with the rest of the infobox updates, and I can always come back with a better source for the honorific when one becomes available. Hello, I'm Sam, an employee of Tron DAO. Since I have a conflict of interest, I am asking editors to review the following suggested updates to the "Career" section. I hope editors will review these suggested edits and implement them on my behalf if they are seen as improvements to Wikipedia.

Career

  • Add a subheading just under the "Career" header: "Technology"
    • Reason for the change: This will provide a designated place for information on Sun's career in the technology industry
  • Change paragraph: "Sun studied at Hupan University and became the cover figure of Yazhou Zhoukan in 2011 and Davos Global Youth Leaders in 2014. In 2015 he was named CNTV's most noteworthy new entrepreneur, and was named in Forbes China 30 Under 30 from 2015 through 2017."
    • To: "In late 2013, Sun joined Ripple Labs as chief representative and adviser.[1] In 2014, he founded Peiwo, a Chinese voice-based social networking app.[2][3] He was named CNTV's most noteworthy new entrepreneur in 2015, and was included in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia list from 2015 to 2017.[3][4]"

  • Add new paragraph under "Diplomacy" subheading: "Sun was appointed Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2021. As a result, Sun phased out of his daily roles at his crypto-related projects such as Tron in order to focus on his diplomatic role at the WTO in Geneva. Sun told Bloomberg he would use his role to advocate cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to countries and promote technology development in Grenada. Sun said the Caribbean has "become a very good place for entrepreneurship" because of its close proximity to the U.S., with less strict regulations regarding cryptocurrency.[10]"

    • Reason for the change: This section could be used to house information on Sun's high-profile bids
  • Move and update info on meal with Warren Buffett: "Sun placed the winning $4.6 million bid to have a private meal with Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett in June 2019,[1][2] before canceling it to widespread surprise.[3][4] The dinner with Buffett eventually occurred in early 2020.[5] Sun met with Buffett, a critic of cryptocurrency, at the Happy Hollow Club in Omaha, Nebraska, on January 23, 2020.[6] Sun was joined by other cryptocurrency executives, including leaders of Litecoin and eToro.[6] At the dinner, Sun gifted Buffett a phone with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.[7] The money from the charity auction benefited the Glide Foundation, which Buffett's late wife Susan introduced to Buffett after volunteering there.[8]"
