Inspired by "To Cut A Long Story Short"??? edit

The page which is used as a citation or reference for that is not a reliable source of information, and contains inaccuracies (like saying the song isn't played live by DM, when in fact it often is.) User comments on that page itself contest information on that page. I've listened to "To Cut a Long Story Short" and in some ways it's kind of similar (having a bright synth sound and very repetitive) but otherwise it's not a clear model for "JCGE". I'm not disputing the claim, I'm just not convinced. I would strongly suggest people find a better source or reference, and if there is none to be found, remove the statement that JCGE is "inspired by" the Spandau Ballet song. It sounds to me like a fan of Spandau Ballet is responsible for that notion. I'd really like to see a quote directly from Vince in a reliable publication. Otherwise, I think it should be removed. If you agree, please go ahead and take it out. Jdubowsky (talk) 11:47, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

It sounds plausible, but I agree, so I've taken it out. Songmeanings is a user-submitted database just like Wikipedia, except that it doesn't even pretend to be accurate and its legality is dubious. The few other mentions of Vince Clarke and the Spandau Ballet song are either copied from Wikipedia, or from Songmeanings. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 17:06, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Contesting removal edit

Contesting removal as "Just Can't Get Enough" is also the title of the new Black Eyed Peas single. Someone with the skills can turn this into a disambiguation page. I'm sure both pages will be worthwhile. Martin Packer (talk) 17:13, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

A disambiguation page can be made once someone writes an article titled Just Can't Get Enough (The Black Eyed Peas song). SYCTHOStalk 00:55, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cover Image edit

The cover image is from the 12" version of the single and differ from the 7" one wich should be displayed.

– The Depeche Mode song is highly likely to be the primary topic for this phrase. Page views greatly outnumber both other topics with articles, and the vast majority of search results on both Google and DuckDuckGo are related to this song. 2A00:23C6:880C:E101:F5F5:614A:868:AB5A (talk) 19:38, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. The difference in the amount of page views this article has over all the other articles on and including the disambiguation page is not large enough to consider the Depeche Mode song the primary topic. A good rule of thumb is that the page should have at least 10x the views of all the others combined; per the more recent page view comparison (no idea why the nominator used a graph spanning 8 years ... can't read that thing and it doesn't establish current trends), the Black Eyed Peas song alone breaks that claim since the Depeche Mode song gets only 3–5x the views of the Black Eyed Peas song. The current situation is the most helpful for our readers. Steel1943 (talk) 20:21, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Younger listeners/readers will know the other song. No benefit to readers. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:41, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
