Talk:Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008 direct-to-video film)

Possible Mistaken Identity

edit

"The centre of the Earth portrayed in this film bears a close resemblance to the land of Pellucidar from Burroughs' works, particularly as both feature primitive humans dwelling at the very centre of the Earth, unaware of life on the Earth's surface until the arrival of the protagonists."

This is wrong as there are no primitive humans dwelling at the very centre of the Earth in this film. I watched this earlier today and the only living creatures that are encounted (as far as I could tell) are dinosaurs and giant spiders. There are numerous other films with the same or similar names so I assume this is just a case of mistaken identity (It is worth noting that when this was recently shown on Syfi in the UK, it was listed as starring Treat Willimas but he was not actually in this film, but rather the 1999 version.

As this information is incorrect I will remove it from the article. Zeb 01:02, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: page moved to Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008 direct-to-video film). There seems to be consensus for this title, and the RM has been inactive for more than 7 days.  — Amakuru (talk) 17:53, 25 June 2013 (UTC) (non-admin closure)Reply

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008 Asylum film) → ? – I think "Asylum" is too specific or... something less suitable. I'm thinking "direct-to-DVD", "direct-to-video" or "home video"... or "video". Any other suggestions if move is favored? Relisted. Not sure, but I don't really like "Asylum" in the title here either. "direct-to-DVD" seems the best of those. There should be a redirect for the old title if it does get moved though, because it's definitely a likely search term. Dunno, really, and I'm not an expert on Article names like this, but the existing title is a little jarring, so I can understand the suggestion for discussion. That's my 2 cents, happy to defer to the "experts". Begoontalk
Clarifying that you may treat my !vote as support for any of the 4 options (least favourite is just (video)), with or without 2008 (slightly prefer with 2008), to establish consensus. You can leave a note on my talk page if you need me back here to firm anything up or clarify further. Cheers. Begoontalk 09:23, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008 direct-to-video film)Journey to the Center of the Earth (Jones and Wheeler film) – Director is the best way to disambiguate. Cf. H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds (David Michael Latt film) Goustien (talk) 04:04, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
