Father? edit

A Joseph Teal has an entry in Gaston's "Portland, Oregon, its History and Builders" -- but this one was born in Germany in 1819 and came to Oregon in 1853. He was one of the principal supporters of the Willamette Locks, so also a waterways guy. Perhaps J.N. Teal's father? See here. -Pete (talk) 01:38, 8 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

A worthwhile source to seek out: The Crusade to Save Oregon's Scenery, Thomas R. Cox, Pacific Historical Review, Vol. 37, No. 2 (May, 1968), pp. 179-199, University of California Press -Pete (talk) 19:59, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
