Photo request edit
In response to the reqphoto request for photographs, the article now has a portrait of John Narborough and a commonscat. However we do not yet have a photo of his memorial, so I have left the reqphoto template in place. I don't suppose he has a gravestone in St Clement's churchyard, because he died at sea, but he has a wall plaque memorial inside the church. Storye book (talk) 21:23, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- The portrait shown is incorrectly marked as John Narborough, but is clearly the Peter Lely portrait of Sir Christopher Myngs. I can assure you that after 40 years of research there is no known portrait of John Narbourgh, not even in privately held collections. (unsigned)
- The above unsigned comment is correct - the image was of another man. I have corrected the image file, and removed the image from the article. Storye book (talk) 13:21, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Yet again someone has placed (a very poor) version of the Christopher Myngs portrait and described it as being of John Narborough.
Once again - there is NO KNOWN image of John Narborough in existence.

Early life edit
Narborough was also survived by a daughter Elizabeth who married Thomas D'Aeth whose descendents still own Knowlton. (unsigned)

I gave up putting citations as it would appear on this website that incorrect seconday sources are preferable to correct primary sources.
