Today a molecular biologist at Hunter College, Jill Bargonetti has always been interested in science, but growing up she hoped to become a dancer. In college many professors told her to pursue science and convinced her to submit a graduate school application. She was accepted to the graduate New York University and currently still involved in the scientific field. She is currently conducting research on breast cancer in African American women by using the precision medicine approach [1].

When not in the lab, she embraces her natural talent and teaches Choreographic Genomics, a course at Hunter College that allows non-biology majors to understand biology through movement exercises and an artistic lens. Her class looks at the flow of information through genomes from a post-modern dance less, that allows students to be choreographers, dancers, and inquiry based learners that examine scientific theory through creative inquiry, as well as replicating the organisms of genes throughout the cell [2].
