United Jewish Communities → The Jewish Federations of North America — In October 2009, UJC (United Jewish Communities) officially changed its name and logo to The Jewish Federations of North America in order to more closely match the naming conventions of its member Jewish Federations across the US and Canada --- i.e. The Jewish Federation of Geographic Location... --Andyneusner (talk) 20:17, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Are there other articles that need to be renamed because of this action. Any other relevant organizations?--Labattblueboy (talk) 00:59, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

After having reviewed other relevant listings (particularly Jewish Communal Organizations), I'd say that no other articles should be moved. There's a more general listing for [Jewish Federation] that explains what such a group is, but that's not about the specific major nonprofit body that was UJC and is now The Jewish Federations of North America. Aside from the need to update a bit of the body text of that general listing to reflect the new name of UJC, it's still fine as is. And this shouldn't lead to moving the handful of articles on the various local Jewish Federations that are on Wikipeedia, though I should in the future add linkages between those listings to help readers.Andyneusner (talk) 16:02, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Labattblueboy, thanks for the tip. I swapped out the old logo for the new one. So how does the move to being listed under Jewish Federations of North America rather than United Jewish Communities happen. Do you do it? Do I? 2nd move

I have moved The Jewish Federations of North America to Jewish Federations of North America. WP:NAME discourages the use of definite or indefinite articles at the beginning of titles.--Labattblueboy (talk) 16:22, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

I disagree with this move, and note that both the WP:NAME policy and the WP:THE guideline state that the definite article is to be retained at the beginning of a WP article title when it is actually part of a proper name. Discussion? --Rich Janis (talk) 06:47, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

why link to Haaretz?

Noticed first link in External links section is "GA-Israel 2013" link to page at haaretz.com, which seems to be coverage of JFNA's General Assembly, but there does not seem to be much there... with apparently everything after first paragraph in each piece available to "subscribers & registered users" only. Link to the General Assembly's website (generalassembly.org) instead? Wikipedia's article about JFNA doesn't mention the General Assembly. --EarthFurst (talk) 04:22, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
