Sourcing the "Time Wounds All Heels" quote edit

The quote "Time Wounds All Heels" is being attributed here to Jane Ace, but Groucho Marx also says it in the movie Animal Crackers. That movie was made in 1930, the same year that Ace started in radio. It seems doubtful to me that she said it first. If anything, it could be a vaudeville quote older than both of them. Is there any evidence that she actually had it first? The only "reference" for it is a link to an image of a printed t-shirt with the quote and the attribution. I'd hardly call this a valid source, since pretty much anybody these days can independently print up t-shirts with falsely attributed quotes they got off the web. I've seen people do it on CafePress with some of the quotes you see on Wiki's "Misquotations" page. -- WillieBlues (talk) 15:03, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Correction: I think it might have been in Go West (1940) where he said it. I'm going to watch both films to verify. Regardless, again, a t-shirt image isn't exactly a reliable source. WillieBlues (talk) 15:20, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Since making the above post, it seems that the user named "We Hope" (the same user who apparently added the aforementioned T-shirt picture reference, not to mention re-added it after it was already deleted the first time) added two new references for the quote. These appear to be little more than hasty searches through Google Books: 1) The first book seems to be a random collection of quotations, and judging from reviews of the book some of the quotations seem to be inaccurate and more importantly unsourced. Yes, we already know some people have attributed the quote to her, but exactly when did Jane Ace supposedly use this quote and the others on the list? Do recordings of the original shows still exist? 2) The second reference links to a completely irrelevant section of a book on Google Books, but a search in the book for the quote in question just mentions that the quote made it into Bartlett's (aka Bartlett's Book of Familiar Quotations) -- so why not just give THAT reference instead?
