James Murphy (soccer) → James Murphy (U.S. soccer player) – there's another soccer subject named James Murphy at Jimmy Murphy (footballer); and as "soccer" and "footballer" have no difference for the readership, as some dialects of English use both soccer and footballer, the disambiguation doesn't disambiguate; the current title would redirect to the disambiguation page James Murphy -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:50, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

- Oppose - Jimmy and James are two different names. See James Forrest (footballer) and Jimmy Forrest (footballer) for another example. Unreal7 (talk) 11:30, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
- The real name of the other person (Jimmy) is "James", so both of them are "James", therefore this fails WP:PRECISE being unable to distinguish two different topics because they can use the same disambiguator and can use the same name. Neither of these two people is a primary topic of ambiguous disambiguation is a bad idea, as it fails PRECISE. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:13, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per Unreal7. – Michael (talk) 20:32, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
Discussion
edit- Any additional comments:
- The usual disambiguator in cases like these appears to be "American soccer". DrKiernan (talk) 18:27, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
