I haven't been able to turn up a single scrap of information about Condé's life, including birth and death dates. Given the amount and quality of Condé's illustrations, this is distinctly odd. Possibly a pen name? Or someone who immigrated to the U.S.? Most of the books he worked on were published out of New York, but the accent aigu suggests he might have hailed from a Francophone nation.
