Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe → Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe – The institute was renamed Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU) in 2012 after receiving an endowment from the Kavli Foundation [1], and over the past few years has phased out its previous name Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU). The name IPMU is still sometimes used in Japanese because it is easier to pronounce, but not in English. As of today, the institute's Kavli IPMU name appears on its official website [2], its Japanese government funders - the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science [3], and its overseas funders - the Kavli Foundation [4]. Removed the COI template from here as there is already a declared COI template at the top of the talk page (which is the preferred location anyway).
