Newtral edit

Is there enough data out there to spin Newtral to its own article? It reached number one on the weekly in 2012. [1] -AngusWOOF (talk) 20:25, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • please ignore previous comment* I'm sorry for noticing that the articles are already created when I went back to the discography page. --Eyuancozyu (talk) 22:31, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Soundtracks and CM tie-ins edit

I removed the soundtrack and CM listings from this section per WP:DISCOG. However, it CAN be added to the individual album articles and the singles articles as "Commercial and soundtrack tie-ins", so I am leaving it here for reference. If a song is not covered by an album or single, you can add them back in as Other songs. -AngusWOOF (talk) 07:47, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Better source for information edit

I think that using the official Ikimonogakari site here is a better (and more complete) source for a complete discography (though not for sales figures). It includes singles, albums, dvds, covers and their previous indie stuff, and it leaves out the extraneous stuff like CMs. The site is in japanese. Kuitan (talk) 10:36, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

To an extent I agree with your point - the Ikimonogakari site certainly contains more detailed information. The issue is that, generally, Wikipedia is looking for reliable third party sources (see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources) and unfortunately, the official site is not a third party source. The main issue with not including third party sources would be that the article would fail the Wikipedia:Notability criteria. Consequently, I think that the best compromise would be to stick the discography at the bottom of the external links. Thanks for identifying the useful link and feel free to give a counter argument to this reply - I'm not an expert on Wikipedia policies myself JTST4RS (talk) 10:54, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I don't master all necessary rules of Wikipedia yet, but I'd like to note that the Japanese article for Ikimonogakari [2] is quite complete but I can only translate little by little. It is really a great source of information. What I don't know is whether it will still be considered reliable or not (but I guess it probably is). And also, the possible threat for this is the use of online translation sites without refining the output before saving it here. Nonetheless, compared to this English page, it is generally longer and more complete. --Eyuancozyu (talk) 22:23, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
While the Japanese wikipedia article is a good starting point, it can't be cited as a reference, however, you can check if it has any information that might be useful as long as those have links to reliable sources. -AngusWOOF (talk) 23:06, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
