Honda FC50 'Beat', the most powerful 50 class scooter of all time. Come one, come all, if you've owned, seen, driven or even just sat on one of these rare bikes, please tell us here in the discussion what your thoughts, experiences, likes and dislikes you had during your time with it! edit

I personally have no experience with this bike but seeing as it makes 7.2ps with what was an apparently 'average' design expansion chamber, one could only imagine what a clean running example would be capable of with say, a modern, FMF custom expansion chamber, a slightly 'modified' carburetor to see if there's any restrictions going on there, aftermarket final drive components for longer gearing. (That would have to be done with extreme care taken to match the newly improved powerband to compliment both sub 5500 RPM/VTAC as well as 5500rpm and above w/ VTAC on AND off. I imagine VTAC could get tricky as power gets moved around and gearing is played with, being a manually engaged feature though, luckily, it likely provides versatility in that if modifications moved everything up a thousand RPM or so, the optimal rev range to engage VTAC in post mods could be determined via a very fun (and lengthy) trip to the dyno.

Some questions I have that seem to be largely unanswered on the internet are: 1. How fast does it REALLY go, were there any go to simple modifications that people made upon obtaining one of these to allow for a 50+ mph top speed? Restrictor plate removal, throttle adjustments, carburetor work, any of the usually governors that could be done away with? 2. Reliability: Now I haven't heard much, but I thought someone was telling me these were risky to buy because of the engines tendency for total failure, that was not really something that could be remedied, could be totally wrong but this WAS honda's adolescent stages of complete and utter lunacy in most everything they did. Thank god for that :) 3. Availability? Any owners can comment to me providing a way for me to contact them actually, especially USA Murphydionysus (talk) 18:52, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
