Nomenclature consistency

Aside from the usual pervasive problems with any of these articles on early Japanese history, this one uses no fewer than three different romaji renderings for one of Himiko's possible representations in the ancient sources, 倭迹迹日百襲姫命: Yamatototohimomosohime-no-Mikoto, Yamato Totohi Momoso himemiko, and Yamato-totohi-momoso. In addition, we have the unique transliteration from the Aston quotation, rendering it as Yamato-toto-hi-momo-so-bime.

This looks messy and unprofessional -- because it is -- and it would be nice if someone picked one of them and stuck to it. 192.35.35.35 (talk) 03:26, 15 June 2019 (UTC)

倭国 is a potential insult

Nope. Please see the Japanese article on 倭国 and the Wiktionary entry on this term.

We don't decide what gets included and what doesn't based on the interpretation of kanji from the 3rd century by a modern speaker of Mandarin Chinese; we decide based on what's referenceable, per WP:REF. As it stands, the use of these characters is supported by the references included in the article, as <ref>"One of my mates says so"</ref> isn't encyclopedic. -- Ineffablebookkeeper (talk) 17:52, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

This figure's photo uploaded by Artanisen. But this life-sized figure was created for display at Osaka Prefectural Museum of Yayoi Culture. Osaka Prefectural Museum of Yayoi Culture opened in 1991. Therefore, the figure is presumed to be under copyright protection. The United States Copyright Law does not allow free reproductions of non-architectural artistic works located in public spaces (this includes monuments and statues), so photographs of non-architectural modern artistic works are not considered as "free works" on Wikimedia Commons.
