The Subject's Name is Mispelt in the Title

edit

This might be a too little too late sort of thing, and this page is essentially dead, but this is a very important thing to get right I feel. Maybe we should move it?

EnneDee (talk) 17:33, 20 July 2020 (UTC) The English spelling of the Bengali last name is "Biswas". In fact, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biswas lists Hemanga Biswas as an example. Books written by the author, when sold in English by publishing houses carry the same "Biswas" spelling e.g. https://www.amazon.in/Hemanga-Bisawas-Rachana-Sangraha-1/dp/8129517213/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&qid=1595265982&refinements=p_27%3AHEMANGA+BISWAS&s=books&sr=1-1 Other news items in reputed newspapers also use "Biswas" which is what was used by the author e.g. Times of India article on wife's death, Article on Paul Robeson citing Biswas, Dhaka Tribune article and many others. The authoritative work on spelling of Bengali Last names from 1959 is also cited and shown here: http://nopr.niscair.res.in/handle/123456789/28560. His children whose pages are now linked from the main article also use the same spelling of "Biswas".Reply

I've moved this page from Hemanga Biswasa to Hemanga Biswas in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:06, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
