Not a Wedding Gift, Not a Work of Philip Hooker

The reference: "Brooke, Cornelia (September 1971). National Register of Historic Places nomination, Hart-Cluett Mansion. New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation." contains an inaccurate characterization of the "house as wedding gift" (The Harts were already married and with several children), and an attribution of the design of the House as a work of the architect Philip Hooker. A more definitive source is the book "The Marble House in Second Street" published in 2000. The book has an extensive discussion of the possible architects and on Page 64, comes to the conclusion that Martin Euclid Thompson, is the most probable architect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Loudonvillewiki (talk```` • contribs) 14:06, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Image of the mansion and the street address given don't match

edit

57 2nd is the address given for the mansion, but the image in this article is that of 59 2nd Street. 57 is to the right (north side). SilverWoodchuck47 (talk) 13:16, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
