Maybe we can their official website once they get it up. I don't see any value in anything else when its all just pr. --Ronz (talk) 16:46, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Almost all film articles have officially verified facebook and twitter pages as External Links. I do not see the point why we shouldn't include that. Daan0001 (talk) 16:52, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
WP:ELMINOFFICIAL says generally to avoid social-networking site links, instead picking one main/official website. So I guess if there are only official social-networking sites available, pick the one most formal or informative one (presumably facebook beats twitter by nature). DMacks (talk) 17:01, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
To clarify the now-underlined phrase, I mean "only have social-networking, no traditional website", not "only official social-networking, not unofficial ones". DMacks (talk) 17:26, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok perfect so we will keep Facebook (verified) as that has closer to 1 Million fans. Daan0001 (talk) 17:14, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I changed it to the official site.
Anyone have rationale for including it besides for pr purposes and WP:OSE? --Ronz (talk) 17:38, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: - I've neither made a new section, nor added changes exactly what you have requested above, but have used sources given above, to write few lines under existing Marketing section of the article. Feel free to re-open the request, if you are not satisfied and want something else to be added there. However, I'd suggest you to not request irrelevant changes, as Wikipedia is not a newspaper. All three sources have the identical contents, that's what bring me doubt, if it is a paid news.
@Ferret: - Indian Express and Zee News are actually reliable sources. :) Anupmehra -Let's talk! 17:38, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Anupmehra: Noted. I should have worded differently, but my intent was as you said, that it is paid news. I suppose if an RS carries it, it's usable, but there was no attribution to an author and so I doubted it. -- ferret (talk) 17:45, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Ferret, - Believe me, I could have closed it exactly same way, giving the same rationale as yours, if I was not familiar of the cited sources very well. Yes, the articles published are not attributed to an individual, but it is still published in reliable sources, which have editorial oversight, that way, we may give it a little attention avoiding promotional tone. Its been clearly seen that the film is not what the producers mentioned as trailer like this "The promos of the film revealed that it belongs to a new genre of musical heist" after everyone watched 2001 American film "Ocean's Eleven". The Plot and some Scenes are lifted without prior copyrights. May be we can write as been inspired by Ocean's Eleven film. 1. Rename Criticism section to Critical reception, -because it basically deals with reception of the film on the box office and comments regarding the same by notable figures and media houses.
  2. Expand the section as following,

Domestic

edit

The film generally received the negative responses from critics and an average rating of 2-2.5 out of 5 stars. Saurabh Gupta of Indian Express rated the film 2 out of 5 stars calling it a Mera Bharat Mahan sentiments type movie, and a cross between an Oceans 11/12 and Flashdance.[1] NDTV also rated the film 2 out of stars and said that the irrespective of collection on box office by film, it has nothing new to offer.[2] Mihir Fadnavis of First Post said that, the movie looks and feels like a home video project that was intended for appreciation by precisely two people in the entire universe - Farah and Shah Rukh Khan and appears to be Ocean 11's rewritten by baboons.[3] Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars taking on originality, said that Originality? What's that, ask Farah Khan in Happy New Year.[4]

International

edit

Reuters's Shilpa Jamkhandikar said that the film has liberally borrowed from Hollywood heist films, in particular from Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven. The first half is lighter and genuinely funny at times, But as the second half wears on, the proceedings become monotonous.[5] Lisa Tsering of The Hollywood Reporter reviewed film as, an ambitious musical, a love story and an Oceans 11-style crime caper.[6] Rediff rated the film 2 out of 5 stars, and said the film plays out like a spoof from the get go, a gigantic lark where nothing is taken seriously.[7] Sami Qahar of Dawn gave the film 2.5 out 5 stars and said the film is Ocean’s Eleven plusItalian Job plus Step Up all in one…on cheap shape-deteriorating steroids.[8]

@Redrose64: -Wow! wait a moment! No body here appears to be opposing suggested changes. What do you mean by 'establish a consensus'? Whom I'm supposed to established a consensus talking with? I even asked in my request to active contributors of this page to comment/suggest improvements, no body showed up.
If you find a problem with the suggested changes, please point them out, I'm willing to discuss the same. I'm re-opening the request as the reason given to decline the edit-request does not appear to be valid. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 12:41, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Nobody is opposing changes because they haven't had a chance to. You posted this request at 08:09 today - less than five hours ago, so it's not surprising that "no body showed up". Regarding "establish a consensus", it's linked to Wikipedia:Consensus. Please do not reopen this request without first establishing consensus, this is all covered at WP:PER. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:49, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Weird! You could wait a reasonable amount of time before marking it close due to lack of consensus. I'm not assuming consensus in my favor. I'm annoyed over your assumption to determine lack of consensus and mark edit-request as "not done". I'm re-opening the request again when you close it as "not-done" next, I'd be seeking a valid reason.

And seriously, by closing the request as 'not done', you mean it'd automatically be done after 24 or 48 hours (in case no body showed up)? Leave it open for a considerable amount of time before taking a decision over. Mark it not-done, when someone oppose. And, being open, it may serve the purpose to attract editors attention to participate into here.

If I speak your way, it'd be WP:PER is not WIkipedia policy or guideline. See, WP:POLICY for details. And, WP:CONSENSUS has no word over "edit-requests", therefore it's a bit irrelevant here. It highlights on Wikipedia being a collaborative project. However, Not every edits/changes made on here are subject to attain consensus, they are mostly controversial stuffs where people have some disagreement.

Please Don't be a typical Wikipedia admin AND see WP:THIS, WP:THAT, WP:THEM, also WP:AFKNAFBJHBRCSBKSJNCDKJDANKDJADAJK person. Have calm and patience! Anupmehra -Let's talk! 18:26, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I didn't close the request, I marked it as "answered". If you would actually care to check WP:PER, instead of dismissing it as "a bit irrelevant here", you would see that is extremely relevant, since it describes the process by which edits to protected pages are proposed and actioned. In the very first paragraph it says "consensus should be obtained before formally making the request", and this is amplified in later sections. At the top of the {{edit protected}} template's documentation it says "consensus should be obtained before the template is added"; its purpose is therefore not to seek consensus when there is none, but to request an admin to actually make an edit once it is clear that consensus exists.
The protection log for this page includes, amongst other things, this comment from DMacks (talk · contribs): "edit-warring among multiple autoconf'ed accounts, including unexplained removal of content by several, and uncited fact changes by many editors". A request from one person, with just one other in support, is quite insufficient to convince me to edit the article in accordance with your wishes - because it is likely that if I do, somebody else will then put up a contrary request. Should I action their request as well? No. That is why we have full protection - again notice the statement "Modifications to a fully protected page can be proposed on its talk page (or at another appropriate forum) for discussion. Administrators can make changes to the protected article reflecting consensus. Placing the {{Edit protected}} template on the talk page will draw the attention of administrators for implementing uncontroversial changes." --Redrose64 (talk) 19:01, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Closing and answering, are the same thing here. You marked it answered "not-done" due to lack of consensus. I wondered, what made you determine there's no consensus. Just because this change has not been discussed before making the edit-request, hence it is against consensus? I'd say, poor judgement. I said, you could simply wait a little longer and let the request open/unasnwered to see, if someone shows up here to discuss the thing. Now it being closed (marked answered) request, no-one will be willing it discuss it, and I may claim consensus due to their inactivity. And, On whether I should have initiated a discussion before making an edit-request, -I thought, by making an edit-request I was inviting them to discuss it. OK, I'll wait now, before re-activating the request. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 07:39, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Shah Rukh or Shahrukh

edit

There are two different ways to write his name. Shah Rukh Khan changed his name from Shahrukh to Shah Rukh. So why do we write it in two different ways in one article? It looks better if it's one of these two. And now I'm asking which one do we take? It makes more sense writing it Shah Rukh Khan than Shahrukh Khan, because of the short version SRK --Shwayze (talk) 10:17, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given our article is Shah Rukh Khan (Shahrukh Khan is a redirect to it), using the actual article-name here would be self-consistent. The choice for his own article gives prominence to what he is currently and/or most-commonly called, which also seem like pretty good reasons to use here.
