Gyanmati MatajiGyanmati – honorific-suffix should not be there on wikipedia title -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 00:55, 27 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per nom. This is covered at MOS:BIO; the honorific being non-English doesn't exempt it from that guideline.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  22:24, 30 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Comment edit

Note that she is invariable referred to as "Gyanmati Mataji". No one ever calls her Gyanmati. Shastri (an academic degree) in Lal Bahadur Shastri, Mahatma in Mahatma Gandhi, Pope in Pope Paul VI are all honorific. However until there is someone else famous with the name Gyanmati, I wouldn't mind reserving the article title "Gyanmati" for her. She is a very well known personality.Malaiya (talk) 23:02, 25 September 2018 (UTC).Reply

Issues edit

The article needs total rewrite. The notability of person should also be assessed. Please check for references.--Nizil (talk) 18:51, 20 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is true that the language of the article needs some work. However I could not see anything obviously questionable or incorrect in the article. Can you comment in some detail? Thanks.Malaiya (talk) 23:50, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Malaiya, there are three tags which should be considered. Article is not according to WP:MOS. It should be divided in Early life/Monastic career/Literary career/Construction activities etc. Achievements is something different. References are poorly formatted/unclear. Sentences such as Reading and reviewing the same developed a strong desire to further share study and spread the noble concept of Ahimsa (Non Violence) as described in Jainism. and At the tender age of 18 exactly on auspicious day of Sharad Purnima 1952, she decided to dedicate herself in preaching and practicing this religiously and vowed of lifelong Celibacy following the Seven Pratimas as Brahmacharini under the guidance of Acharya Deshbhushan ji Maharaj. violate WP:MOSWTW and WP:NCIN. In Infobox, honorifics are used. The language is flowery and puffed. There are several unclear words and confusing sentences like what is following the Seven Pratimas as Brahmacharini. So I have requested complete rewrite. -Nizil (talk) 04:51, 27 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have rewritten lede and Early life section to illustrate how it should have been written. Watch for grammar, honorifics, capitals etc too.-Nizil (talk) 05:04, 27 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have done further cleanup and have added some tags.-Nizil (talk) 05:28, 27 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
