The context
editIt should be explained that in Colombia calling someone communist or Marxist is a death threat, even worse, is almost death sentence, it is like telling the paramilitary to kill him. It is within this context that this humble man is doing what he is doing. That's why his challenge to Uribe and the establishment is remarkable, heroic. Without that context the whole article is meaningless.--tequendamia 00:38, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree that it should be included, if you have an article or a quotable critic making that exact argument in this case (someone saying that Moncayo is in danger because of Londoño's words). Otherwise, that's probably external interpretation and/or original content. Juancarlos2004 18:02, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- My apologies to tequendamia on this one, I thought he was expressing his own personal views (POVs). He never mentioned what was he talking about... Londono's quote. --F3rn4nd0 (Roger - Out) 19:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I just wanted to bring to the attention that situation. Union leaders in Colombia are killed when they are labelled communist, which in fact some of them, maybe most of them are (MOIR members). The other case is the almost extermination of the UP (Unión Patriótica) party, which was created to serve for the transition of FARC guerrillas to the civilian life.--tequendamia 19:48, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm aware of the situation and the risks that actual or alleged communists face in Colombia, but the above still stands. Other than that, we could discuss a lot of things about the MOIR and UP (I believe its situation was rather more complicated than that), though I won't because it would be off-topic. Fair use rationale for Image:Sonofmoncayo.png
editImage:Sonofmoncayo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
"Concayo"
editThat is a joke name, coming from his long walks. Actually he is popularly known as "profe Moncayo" or "peace walker". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.67.59.234 (talk) 23:30, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
